Great replacements for our twist-off caps that had gone a bit rusty - for fairly standard 1 litre glass bottles. It's the outer diameter of the caps that is 48mm - the opening of the bottle (whether inside or out) will of course be rather less.

The metal lids are fine, but don't fit a standard UK glass milk bottle, they are far too big. These are more like small jar lids.

Used as a cup for the catapult made by the Scouts.

These do not fit the milk bottles we get from the milkman. It seems to be so difficult to find some that do!

I bought a set of small (old-fashioned type) milk bottles for use at home but the tops have begun to rust and are hard to clean. These are less inclined to rust (having a plastic coating inside I think) and fit my bottles perfectly. Now I can throw them away if they begin to rust.
