I bought TWO... one for a friend and one for myself. We are in our 60s and even with new glasses I'm experiencing eye strain and he can't read printed books at all any more! This magnifier is sturdy but lightweight, comfortable to hold and has a nice big lens so you don't have to constantly move it across the page, with TWO light settings...I love that...the lower setting is nice first thing in the morning. It also has a nice-sized 30X magnifier; I don't really need that but I like that it's separate from the big lens. This magnifier is also great for reading in bed if someone else is trying to sleep. :-) It takes three AA batteries. They don't come with it but it's easy to take the magnifier out of the package, put batteries in and then repackage before you give it as a gift! It comes in a nice box with actual directions. :-) And the price... only $16.60! This would be a great gift for anyone over 60...or even younger. I'll be ordering more for Christmas! OH, and delivery was SUPER FAST.

Ordered this after repeatedly not able to read all the fine print they put on bottles, packaging, labels etc. It is really great! I ordered the large size and love it. The lights are really a good feature and you can turn them on or off. It made it easy to read ...no more straining to see. The price is good and I received it quickly as usual from Amazon. Good product. I recommend this product. It also comes in a smaller size which is a good option if you don't want a large one.

I bought this for my mother who needs corneal implants but her age prevents her from the surgery. She loves to read and needed something stronger than her reading glasses and the magnifying glass she currently uses. I bought this product because it was stronger than the one she has and has 4 LED lights. My mother is delighted with this product. The glass is big enough that it shows the entire page she is reading and she can see the words clearly. This product has brought a smile back to my Mother's face!

This magnifier is large enough to see a big area, without being uncomfortably heavy. The light helps a lot. Visual quality is good. The battery cover is a bit flimsy, but otherwise the magnifier is sturdily made.

Good light, magnifying glass seems a little distorted though. I like it regardless. Better then reading glasses.

I did like them for a brief period. My eyes have reached the age needing large font everything. I've had two versions of this. One as pictured and the other has the small powerful lens inset in large lens rather than the handle. If the didn't break so eadily I'd still use it. I think the design flaws are: cheaply built, the small lense is uselss, the lighting is only so-so not great and I'm fed up with batteries. Need to be usb rechargeable.
