Any hanging object needs to be heavy in order for the line to stretch and stay in the stretched position. Otherwise it snaps back into place all the way closed. I placed a clip at the top after stretching to desired length.

We have smaller baskets purchased from the local wholesaler. Because of the weight restrictions of the pulleys, you must be mindful of water weight, wouldn’t recommend large baskets. Though precautions have been taken, one pulley snapped and dropped a basket with a thud on the patio. That said, these are really convenient for watering, checking for bird nests, and fertilizing. If they were sturdier, I’d give 5 stars.

I have 3 hanging plants outside my LR window & every time I watered them no matter how careful I thought I was being my windows got dirty 🤨 Even when I stood up on step stool to assist they had spots. I ordered these pulleys which were very ease to install & I was greatly surprised when I began to use them how well they work! I just slightly lift the bottom of my plant push up gently and then guide it down to the level I need to water without getting my windows spotted. It’s Wonderful!I Highly recommend these Plant Pulleys

I like them and I love the concept. However, if it is in an area with wind, it will blow round and round until it is so twisted you cannot retract anymore.

Bought for my mom and it helps her watering her plants. They are a bit tricky to getting a feel for the locking mechanism but they are good.

I saw something like this on an Instagram ad, and decided to order through Amazon so I could return it easier...because I wasn't actually expecting it to be as great as it seemed. But it IS! This little devise uses the same "stop" mechanism that a roller shade would. So easy to lower my flower baskets down to a comfortable height to water them...the WOOSH...back up they can be pushed! Definitely worth the purchase. So glad I ordered the 4-pack.

A great idea for high hanging plants but the pull down and lock doesn't work easily, for me. Like to concept and when it works its effortless.

When the wind blows it causes the hanger to turn, thus causing the material to get wrapped tight. This prevents the hanger from retracting completely so that you can lower it. It works but will not last long.
