ROCK STILL LIVES!!
Tora Tora return with an album that sounds like a natural progression from Wild America. This is their best album yet, full of great songs that capture their unique sound. With new bands all sounding so generic this is welcome relief. Buy this album I promise you won't be dissapointed!

Great Bluesy Rock/Hardrock ...with a few minor imperfections in the recording.
I'm not going to get into one of those in-depth, song by song reviews. I think I can tell you what you need to know in less time.If you like(d) any of the old Tora Tora singles (Walkin' Shoes, Phantom Rider, Love's A Bitch, etc.), and you still like that very blues influenced melodic hard rock sound, and you like the singer's voice ...and I do, do and do ...then you'll love this album! This one incorporates some real horns at times and some extra help on background vox from some talented young ladies.I heard three of the songs on last.fm (Revolution Day, Little Texas & Out of the Storm) and I was sold. I actually thought it was a brand new record, but discovered it was actually recorded in the mid-90s, but never saw the light of day as a release. That being the case, the recording has a few small issues you should be aware of. There are several instances on the record, each one lasting no more than about a second, where the recording is distorted. Sounds a bit like a combination of the sound "breaking up" and a bit of static. Sounds a bit like some old fashioned over-modulation at times. Again each occurrence last no more than a second or so and there are probably about 4 or 5 on the record. If you like this kind of music, I highly recommend this album and strongly encourage you to buy it. There isn't nearly enough quality music of this sound coming out these days. After hearing this, I can only hope it sells enough that Tora Tora might even decide to put out another one. I might have given this only four stars between the recording quality issues and my natural tendency to save 5 stars only for the absolute masterpieces... but I remember there being a one or two star review somebody gave based on their dislike of the album cover. So that was enough to seal the 5 stars for me, hoping to bring the average rating back up somewhere close to where it should be!....OK, maybe that wasn't less time! ;)

Tora Tora
I don't usually write reviews, but I will for this. I was born in Nashville and lived my whole life in Memphis! Although the music I listento today is a little harder, this takes me back. I grew up not too far from White Station, which is where the guys went to school. I had the privilege of meeting Anthony Corder at a bar called Stage Stop once! I count that as one of my claims to fame!!!
