Size:1 | Color:Black The Comfort Trainer Head Halter will help you to gently control and train a dog that pulls or is aggressive. EZ Clip is a quick-release clip to make it easier to put on and take off. Sizing Note: If your dog's head is smaller than his neck (such as Dobermans, Collies and Greyhounds), choose one size smaller. Not for use with a leash longer than 6 feet. Works best with a lightweight leash (like a bungee leash in size small).

Dog gets loose!
We have a couple of the Comfort Trainer Head Halter we purchased several years ago when our older dog was a puppy. They are amazing! They really were an excellent training tool for our dog Wyatt and we still use the larger one every day. When we adopted our puppy Jane, we immediately began using the size 3 we already owned for her training. Still amazing! She's grown to a little over 50 pounds so we searched for the next size up. When we ordered the new Comfort Trainer Head Halter in size 4, I was pleased to see that everything looked exactly the same as before. It took a little time to realize that while they look great, the clasp has been changed to a much cheaper and failure-prone alternative. The first clasp broke entirely. Thankfully this happened while in our yard and the puppy came back into the house safely with some treats and coaxing. Amazon is amazing and sent out a replacement immediately. Unfortunately the replacement also has clasp issues. On this one the clasp releases with any tug from Jane. This is a real problem with our 50 lb puppy who is still learning! She's tugged herself out of the harness several times. When we moved her back to the much older size 3 (that is honestly a tiny bit too small for her), it works beautifully. I'm sorry to see the quality diminish on the Comfort Trainer Head Halter. They really were an excellent product and I've recommended them to many friends and family. Unfortunately I can no longer do so. They are simply unsafe at this point. I hope the manufacturer will realize the error in the change and switch back to more robust clasps. As it is, we'll continue to use our older versions but will be unable to purchase replacements when they wear out.

Not the Head Turner I Hoped For
I've been a long-time user of head halters and I THOUGHT this one seemed like a simple solution. The last one I got was a Snoot Loop brand that appeared similar in design, but seemed far more complicated to adjust. I had gotten that one from a top trainer, who adjusted it for me. I also had purchased it directly from her and did not recall how much I paid. So, when the time came to order one for my new dog, this looked like a good solution. All I can say is... what a waste of my money! I ordered the size that was listed as appropriate for my dog. He's about as average a build as a dog can get. Nothing too remarkable or odd about his head and nose shape. He's 38lbs, so we ordered the size 3. The first annoyance was that the super small clip was a pain in the butt to try to get closed, even though my hands are tiny. Secondly, sadly, it never seemed to move or sit correctly on my dog. In no time at all, he developed rub marks and red sores on his nose from this. It rubbed in the area at the top of his nose, closest to the inside corner of his eyes. I have since stopped using this item and ordered the original Snoot Loop. Turns out, the Snoot Loop brand I've had so much success with in the past, was also nearly $15 less (with shipping) and only took 2 days to arrive, when ordered directly from their website. Thanks to the Snoot Loop, my new dog is now happy in a head halter and it's quite successful for us. Sadly, thanks to the idiotic placement of the oversized tag on the Comfort Trainer, I instantly got annoyed and removed it. Plus, we wore it for a short time before we determined it wasn't the right thing for us. So, I can't return this and I'm now out over $30 for this wasted experiment. Lesson learned. Oh, and the Snoot Loop that I thought was oh so difficult to adjust... only took about 2 min to make perfect. I can't recommend this Comfort Trainer and I highly suggest you avoid this headache purchase for you AND your dog. (Tan nose strap in the pictures is the Comfort Trainer and the black nose strap is the Snoot Loop. The Snoot Loop gives more adjustments and allows for more space and comfort around his nose, yet doesn't slip off)

Dog seems to like it better than the name brand original; it’s okay from an owner perspective.
My dog likes this head halter better than he likes his name-brand gentle leader. He still doesn’t love the concept of a head halter, but I wasn’t expecting a miracle. He does seem to find it easier to have his mouth wider open in this one. I think my dog walker must have loosened the buckle clasp, however, as he completely slipped out of it while crossing the street the other day (how it is, without fail, that he knows when I’m jaywalking across a street where cars fly by and stops halfway across to try to paw off his halter?).The only negatives are that the clasp to secure the halter around my dog’s head is very small and more difficult to find and unlatch through his thick mane than was the latch on the gentle leader, and that the sizing mechanism, by virtue of being a buckle, seems more appealing to my dog walker to use than to use the quick release clasp. The result is that if multiple folks are using this halter it won’t be a once-and-done affair to fit the halter to your dog’s head

Recommend over the Halti and Gentle Leader!
I have trained several puppies and I just love this product!!! The Comfort Trainer is a thoughtful and well engineered improvement over all other head type halters. This CT is FAR more comfortable than other halters due to the softer material, fit around the eyes and does not fit as tightly as The Gentle Leader but Still gives the same amount of control. Yes, the halter is pricy but well worth it. The Comfort Trainer comes in great colors, quality materials. Any type of head halter will take time for the human to use with skill so follow the directions and go slow:)

they could easily pull me down if they saw a deer
The comfort trainers changed my life. I have 3 50-60 pound rescue dogs. Prior to purchasing the comfort trainers, they could easily pull me down if they saw a deer, another dog etc. My breaking point was when I tore my rotator cuff walking my largest dog. They now walk nicely on a leash and even when we see something they used to want to chase, the halter is an effective restraint/reminder not to pull. I can walk my dogs without fear now. I can not recommend them enough. The dogs found them less objectionable than Gentle Leaders which we tried previously.
