The brand has been around a long time, but we think this is probably the best fairway wood Tommy Armour ever made! The Launch XL features a traditional shape and a matte black paint job on the crown. This 5-Wood is right handed, has 18 degrees of loft, and comes installed with a uniflex DLT graphite shaft. (DLT stands for Dynamic Launch Technology.) Uniflex is just marginally stiffer than a regular flex, but certainly not too stiff, so it's a good option for most new and intermediate golfers. Headcover is included. You'll love Tommy Armour's Launch XL for many rounds to come!

This club replaced two useless hybrids.
I bought this for a very specific reason - I couldn't hit tee shots on short holes. My driver sent the ball too far. My 3 wood wasn't reliable, because I'd have to swing softer than was natural and even then, usually the ball would roll past the green. Theoretically, I should be able to hit a 4 or 5 hybrid, but I can't, and I hate them, and they suck.SO, I bought this one, intent to use it off of a tee on those holes between about 130 and 160 yds. For the price, this is AMAZING! It's got a nice sweet spot, tends to go straight, and gives me the loft I need.I'm STILL an embarrassingly bad golfer, but on shorter holes I'm a little bit less bad now.

Economy 5 Wood
As is usually the case, you get what you pay for. Since the price was right, I thought I would give this club a shot. I've only played one round with it and hit it a couple of times during that round. Feels good. Easy to hit. Pretty big head for a 5 wood. The one big issue so far, however, is the included headcover. I put the club in my bag for one trip to the golf course and the head cover is already falling apart. Disappointed for sure, in the head cover. Jury is still out on the club.

Best club ever
I have played golf for just 1 year now, I hit low 90 now. I had never used a wood before because Ive heard they were difficult to hit. However I needed something for distance so I bought this affordable 5 wood in order to practice and once I got the feel of a wood I thought I would later buy a more expensive one. To my surprise the very first practice, I hit this 5 wood about 180 yards 80 percent of the time, sometimes even 200. Even the bad hits, fly about 180 and not to hooked. I love this club, it basically hits itself. My secret is grave it a bit lower than usual, basically in the lower part of the handle so that I feel more control...I was hitting high 90, but the very first week after I trained just once with it, I lowered my score today to 90. My record. II usually hit the driver around 250 and was having a hard time with the irons in the second shot, not any more, now I get to the green with my second or third shot depending on the par.. This is my first review ever, but Props when it is deserved...

Much better than I expected!
I had never bought a Tommy Armour Club previously and was a little skeptical but I thought the price was too good to pass up. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. I like the design of the club, the swing weight, and the feel and quality of the grip. This 5 wood is also extremely accurate! I highly recommend this club, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Great club.
Bought this as an upgrade from my OLD Wilson 5 wood. It swings great, and hits great. Great club for the price.

Affordable performance
No, I am not saying this thing will outperform name brands, but I must say, it is pretty damn good for it's price. Looks great and inspires confidence with great distance to boot (190+ yards). I would buy again anytime.

Best $35 bucks I’ve spent on golf equipment
I still play with Tommy Armour 875 Silver Scot irons, so I was intrigued when I saw this club. I recently broke my 5 wood, so for $30+ I figured, why not? I love the club. Plays as well as my Calloway driver at 10% of the cost. Terrific value.
