Simple Connect 48-Inch Tv Stand, Mocha Finish

First off, assembly is very easy and probably the reason I didn't go with two stars on this one. It took me about 30 minutes to unpackage this item and to have it all put together. If you think you are getting a hardwood TV stand here you are not. This unit is particle board/MDF/manufactured wood (whatever you want to call it). I have already had an issue with my receiver/amplifier overheating so if you plan on using one take that into consideration (you will probably have to watch TV or play your video games with the door on the unit open). Also, there were two damaged spots on my unit when I received it that I didn't notice until it was all put together. There was a chip on the side and a tiny hole on the top of the unit. Since it would have been difficult if not impossible to disassemble the unit, repackage it, and send it back for a replacement I decided to just live with the damage. It would be nice if there was some kind of quality controls in place that would catch these mistakes before they are shipped but I don't get the impression that is the case.BOTTOM LINE: If you are looking for a decent looking TV stand that is very easy to put together and that will probably last for about a year this might be a good one for you. If you have a little extra money, try to find a solid hardwood stand that will last longer and you won't have to worry about the chips and nicks that will inevitably end up making the manufactured wood look like crap.UPDATE: I am lowering my rating from 3 stars to 2. After a little over a month of having the unit set up in my living room, the TV stand is showing signs of breaking down. I went to open the door so my receiver could "breathe" while watching TV. When I grabbed the handle to open the door it pulled right off! The manufactured wood construction of the doors will NOT hold up to repeated opening and closing. I would now only recommend this product if you are storing components inside that will not heat up while in use so you can leave the doors closed at all times. If you plan on housing a receiver you will probably have the same problems I am having. The return policy on this unit is 30 days so now I am stuck with a unit that is quickly breaking down and will probably have to be replaced within a year. Not money well spent in my opinion!

This stand is one of our better purchases. It is visually appealing, holds a large number of DVD's and it is just as shown. The color is even nicer in person that it looks on screen! We have had this for about 4 months and it is holding up really well - which is saying something since we have a 2 year old that sometimes likes to band things on surfaces. :) Very pleased with this purchase and if we need another one in the future, I will be looking for this!

Item was very easy to assemble and actually looks nicer in person but, the knobs suck and constantly come off.

Nice unit, but came scratched and cracked in shipping.. Too much hassle shipping back such a large piece.

Totally blown away by the quality of this TV stand! Its simple yet elegant design fits perfectly with our living room furniture. Best yet...it was very easy to assemble, and is very sturdy. Would recommend to anyone looking for an oak TV stand.

Doors a little uneven. It needs a little readjusting, but the cabinet is beautiful. Word of the wise though, if you have devices that have fans on the back, like a Tivo or computer, this may not be the stand for you. You will need more ventilation. When we close the doors on this unit, the fan speed increases and you can hear them. We ended up leaving the doors open.

Love this tv stand! It's simply beautiful and everyone thinks it's real wood. Putting it together went great until hubby got to the doors. It took him awhile, and some creativity, but he finally got them flush.

If I could select 1/2 a star I would. The tv stand was received with a crack in the wood on the front panel. After unpacking everything I had to spend another twenty minutes packing it back up to be picked up. I received a replacement right away. Same issue!! I was beyond irritated at the amount of time I had to spend on this tv stand and ultimately asked for a refund.
