I didn’t buy this as a workout drink. I have a condition called POTS, which stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. In short, with each change in position in going from lying flat to sitting and then to standing my heart rate goes up significantly and it can make trying to accomplish anything not only difficult, but quite miserable. On standing, my heart rate is often 150 or more, and activity makes it worse still. I’ve heart rates of between 170-300 when trying to accomplish tasks, and it’s very dangerous and makes me quite sick.One of the treatments for this is IV hydration and there’s an IV hydration similarly named a banana bag with similar properties. Having this condition, you’re recommended to drink electrolyte drinks when symptomatic, as well, but the effects are minimal for me in most products. This product was designed to closely resemble the IV banana bag and it actually does have a similar effect for me. It works quickly and has a quick impact on my heart rate and energy levels and it lasts for hours for me. It’s given me some of my life back.It’s loaded with nutrients and so much better for you than your basic salt tabs and gives you far more energy and joie de vivre, which can be fleeting when you have this condition. It’s changed my life. The nutrients are quickly metabolized and their effects are apparent quickly unlike your typical multivitamin.The downsides:First, it is very expensive and not covered by insurance, which is hard when your a disabled, single mom. However, the effect on my heart rate does last for several hours, so I usually only need one a day, as long as I stay hydrated through other means throughout the day. However, it has more nutrients added to the mix than your typical salt tab, which makes up for the price differential and despite my limited income it’s worth it to me, as it’s given me much of my life back while I await approval for my port to deliver IV hydration at home, And, again, it works better than almost any vitamin product I’ve tried and better than most salt stick or tablet products I have tried in both helping normalize my heart rate and giving me a much needed energy boost.Second, the taste is not good. However, I’ve found ways to help mask it. I mix it with 2-3 ounces of something like a flavored Propel or fruit juice (or both) and just drink it down quickly like you would a shot, if there’s residual in the cup, I add a little more liquid, so that I’m sure to get all the nutritious bits out of it. Then, I just make sure to stay hydrated through other means throughout the day.Whether you’re needing this to replace lost electrolytes through an aggressive workout or other physically demanding activity or for your health, I highly recommend this for both its electrolyte properties and it’s nutritional impact and how quickly and efficiently the vitamins are absorbed and actually have an effect on your system. Forget needing caffeine to wake you up, this gives you a far better boost to your system in a far healthier way.

I LOVE banana bags. I recommend them to so many people. Some don't care for the taste, but I'd drink Anything to feel better for taking care of my two kids! These make my days SO much less Potsy. 😍😍😍 I think I'll be drinking these for life. It also help me to feel full and takes away that drained "I feel like death" feeling with its smack of vitamins! So so satisfied.

This product tastes so bad, no one can get it down to even see if it helps rehydrate the body and help with cramps after working in the extreme heat

Doesn’t make me feel any different. Bought bc we work outside daily and wanted to keep my guys hydrated and use as a preventative measure. Guys say it’s not worth it and they can’t tell the difference.

I am rating 3 stars solely based on the taste of the product. Its kind of hard to explain. It looks like it would have an orange/lemon taste based on the color, but it just kind of tastes like a salt water pool. Emergen-C is a similar product and tastes much better IMO.
