Works well. Flap opens up when blower is on, closes when it's turned off.
Overall, a good bit of metalwork. I wish it had the option of a corrugated flange on the end of the pipe - maybe they can add an expansion flange or reduction flange to add to their pipe? My range hood required ductwork to go on in a certain direction, and I ended up with a straight edge pipe meeting strait edge pipe somewhere in the middle. Not the worst case, I worked around it by snipping little cuts into one duct to get it to go into the other, then a lot of aluminum tape around the joint. Works just fine, but would be easier if there were the corrugated flange option, or extra piece available to order.I used this duct to vent a new range hood in an old brick building. Went thru 5 layers of brick with a hammer drill and 5" core bit, which ended up being about 6 feet long overall and 80 lbs. While sitting atop a 10' ladder. Not easy. But got 'er done. Good thing I'm a pretty awesome dude.

Very good quality - needs to be painted though.
This is a very good quality product. It is very tight and square. The flap and opens and closes very nicely on the front. The only thing is, I vented through a concrete wall so just to make sure that it doesn't rust, I painted it with some oil based paint. I wish that the collar was a little longer. 8 inches doesn't go through the entire block wall so I had to extend it before sliding it into the wall. Not too big of a deal. I used a can of spray foam to hold it in place and it is very solid and tight.A little pricy but then again, what isn't? It is a good quality product. I would buy it again.

No mounting hardware/manufacturer doesn’t respond to questions
This vent looks great but it doesn’t come with a flange to mount it properly. None of my local hardware stores sell 6” mounting flanges so I’ve ordered several online but none of them will fit over this pipe so you can mount it. I sent a email to the manufacturer asking for mounting advice with no response.

Also since the scree doesn’t fully fit the opening there is a gap on both side for bugs to easily get in
The screen is too flacky, keeps falling out and not secured properly to the frame. Also since the scree doesn’t fully fit the opening there is a gap on both side for bugs to easily get in. This screen was probably cut bit small, not sure.

Well made, no restrictions
This is a well mad vent with a huge cross sectional area and proper baffle with metal mesh. It is not the cheapest vent out there, but it is probably the best. This vent will not be the restriction in your airflow, and it looks to be very well made. Installed easily, we backed it with a few layers of pvc trim for rot resistance. Silicones the hell out of all the surfaces and got it done.

Piece of junk
Overpriced cheap junk. The steel is as thin as paper. The net can easily fall off. And it is poorly made. What is even worse, the damper seals with a foam ring, which will definitely melt and get sticky in oily air from the kitchen. Hence it will stop working shortly. What a waste!

Good but not great
bought this as a cap for a bathroom fan exhaust to prevent backdraft. the unit feels sturdy and the damper is functional but the tolerance at close still allows a trickle of air (enough so that i added an inline damper as well). there are also no holes for screws, so plan to drill your own if you plan on using screws to attach this to your house

The right fit
The wall vent is the exact type I needed, delivered as promised and a good value.
