I have read several reviews that were like, "This item is crap
So, I know that working with thin copper wire requires the virtue of patience, so if you weren't born with that virtue or have not acquired it over time, you're going to get frustrated.Know this ahead of time. Thin copper wire isn't for rush jobs. I have read several reviews that were like, "This item is crap.It got all tangled up when I was uncoiling it." "These lights aren't bright enough." "These don't work." "These aren't in plastic tubing!" READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION! Blow up the photo to see it bigger if you aren't sure! With that said...I LOVE THESE!!! In fact, I am about to order a repeat. The lights are soft and warm - not the crazy blue Dexter "Kill room" glow. The copper wire also is a nice classy touch.Because the copper wire is so bendy and flexible, you can do just about anything with these (*if* you use patience).

These are COPPER WIRE, not green wire..
I love these little lights ! They are perfect for decorating plants, tables, mantels, inside or out. As long as you can have sunlight for the solar panel. Word of caution with them.. DO NOT just pull them from the way they are wrapped. If they tangle, you will never get them undone. Slowly unwind them and straighten as you go. DO NOT rush this. There's some patience involved. They can be moved anywhere if you want to change where you want them. They just need sunlight. I wrapped mine around a wire hanging basket w/out the coconut liner. It looks so pretty at night ! And during the day you can barely see the wire.. If I get bored with that I'll just put them somewhere else. I love them ! Again, these ARE NOT THE GREEN WIRE TYPE. THEIR THIN COPPER (bendable). many uses with this type.

Lasted less than 2 months
I loved these when they first arrived! Unfortunately, the first one stopped working after about 1 month- I have no idea what happened. It was the middle of summer, the sun was shinning on it most of the day and it was not exposed to any moisture- it just died. I contacted the company, and they replied that they would send out a new one... that never arrived. I decided to try to replace the rechargeable battery and that didn't help either. After taking the housing apart to replace the battery, I throughly inspected the insides and could not find any wires or parts that looked damaged. The new battery did not help and I have no clue why it stopped working. Then, about a month later, the second one stopped working- same situation- plenty of light, no exposure to water, just stopped working. So, given the fact that they did not last more than a couple of months and the company told me they were sending an replacement and never did- I give them 1 star. If you only need them for a night or two (say, for a wedding), they might be ok, but if you plan to use them for more than a short amount of time- pass on these.

Pretty fairy lights
I read other reviews about these lights tangling so I was very careful when unwrapping them. First, with my husband's help, I carefully unwound the string, starting with the loose end of the copper wire, not the end with the clear wire and solar panel. I made sure that there were no kinks as I unwound it. Once the entire strand was undone, I wound it onto a 6" scrap of board I had lying around (a 6" piece of cardboard, plywood, paper towel tube or anything you can wind them on will do). Be sure to wind the copper wire end first, ending with the clear wire and solar panel. That way you can place the solar panel where it will catch the sun and unwind the lights afterwards. This is very important if you're adding the lights to a gazebo, like I did. I attached the solar panels where the roof of the gazebo meets the top braces, making sure they were pointing at the southwest sky as much as possible, then I secured them with zip ties. If you start unwinding from the copper wire end, it's hard to calculate it so that you end up with the solar panel in the right spot to catch the sun. If your lights don't come on when you test them, make sure you have pushed the large black button on the back of the solar panel; once to turn on and again if you want the lights to flash. I ran them around my gazebo roof and along the support ribs, making sure there was a little slack so that they won't stretch and break. I also wrapped an unlit outdoor chandelier that hangs inside the gazebo. They're a nice color - not too yellow, nor a cold white. They blend nicely with the solar lights on my fountain and flower beds and they make the gazebo area look like a fairyland at night. If they don't last I'll update my review, but for now I'm extremely satisfied.Update: The lights have lasted 2 years, in all sorts of wet weather, temperatures below 10 and above 90 degrees. Now 2 strands won't stop flashing and one strand is dead. Solar charge lasts about 3 hours. Two years is very good for these kinds of lights, btw.

Sturdy, bright, efficient, pretty
These lights normally live on an east facing apartment balcony. Full sun from morning to noon-ish provides full light for about 5-6 hours, then they fade and are dim for about another hour or so. High clouds and occasional sun breaks provide a few hours of light, while heavy cloud cover gives dim light for about an hour. These are my results in Seattle, where we are aficionados of cloud cover and weather in general. The solar panels are subjected to full, pouring rain, and have been buried under a couple inches of snow. I unwound them from their railing home, bunched them up, threw them in a box and took them camping, where they circled the camp hanging from tree branches. Getting sun for most of the day (for a change) made them happy enough to provide full light all night long, blinking out only when (and because) the sun rose. They survived the reverse abuse going home and are back on the balcony lighting up the night.Just keep in mind they are tiny LED lights. You can't read by them and you have to bunch them up to be able to really see anything with them, but they're perfect night lights, mood lights, fairy lights... you get the idea. The copper wire is truly flexible and the shapes you make are pretty much only limited by your creativity. I love them.
