Budget-friendly IEMs with light V-shaped sound signature
The Truthear Gate IEMs are budget-friendly in-ear monitors priced around $20. They feature a 10mm dynamic driver with a carbon LCP diaphragm. I feel these have a comfortable fit, good tonal balance (aligned with Harman target tuning), and clean sound quality. While not exceptional in technical performance, they are should be considered a solid choice for their price range. The Truthear Gate IEMs have a light V-shaped sound signature. This means they offer a slight emphasis on the bass and treble regions, while maintaining a relatively neutral midrange. The sub-bass is enhanced, adding depth and a touch of fun, while the midrange remains clean and spacious with a hint of brightness in the upper mids. The treble is inoffensive, providing clarity and detail without being harsh. Here's a breakdown: - Driver: 10mm dynamic driver with a carbon LCP diaphragm. - Sound Signature: Light V-shaped, with enhanced sub-bass, clean mids, and smooth treble. - Frequency Response: 10 Hz to 45 kHz. - Impedance: 28Ω, making them easy to drive. - Sensitivity: 122 dB, ensuring good volume levels even with low-power sources. - Build: Clear acrylic faceplates with a lightweight design for comfort. - Cable: Detachable 2-pin 0.78mm OFC cable. - Accessories: Includes six pairs of silicone eartips and a vinyl carrying pouch. The Truthear Gate IEMs are a budget-friendly option with a solid set of features and performance. I feel they have a good clarity and detail retrieval, though the treble can feel slightly dry, and the lower mids may lack some body.

Just buy it
5 star for look, feel, fit and sound quality. The storage pouch is also good. Best $25 I spent ! I can’t believe some people gave it less than 4 star rating. Just ignore them. These are $25 earbuds and deliver way higher value. These sounds soo good and refined that i cant believe these are only $22 ! I cant imagine how truthear hexa and pure sound like. The case that came with this is pretty decent too. Does not feel cheap. Incredible value! I am coming back after first week of listening. As some people have mentioned, the sound quality of these is unbelievable. As a reference, I own Sony 1000 xm4, Bowers and wilkins PX7 s2e, I just needed a wired earbud for rough use during travel so bought these. I am not exaggerating, they do compare well to sonys, not much to bowers but boy they are close. There are times when I gravitate towards just grabbing these. I dont mind the wire hassle. I am using a cheap $10 usb c to 3.5 mm dongle with my laptop. You dont need fancy dongle but I recommend sticking with big or known brands like apple, linsoul, jcally, moondrop, FIIO, etc

Great V-shape budget IEM
Great value for the money; Treble is maybe a hair forward. Bsss is clean and present without being overdone, but slightly splattering on Self Love and a little muddy on GTIG. Slight occlusion effect with silence. Good reproduction and detail; a tiny bit of warble on the treble on some tracks. Good right-to left soundstage, no rotation. Great male vocals, female too. Both stand out with the mids and have correct timbre. Layer seperation is good, not great. I really like the ways these look, with the unconventional transparent shell They feel like cheap plastic, and the cable is strangely plasticky if reasonably nicely braided for this price point. Overall, nice unit for $20.

Reference sound quality IEM's
Reference quality IEM's. I do not even know how it is possible to make a set of IEM's at this price point that sounds this good. It excels in all three ranges, extremely clean sounding and excellent tonality. I actually listen to tracks I have heard many times and heard things I had not heard before even with expensive high-end Planar IEM's.

Perfect sound, zero distortion, stock tips might not seal with thin sidewall they have.
Amazing, but stock tips have a thin sidewall so might not fit well. I use the Dunu S&S tips and they seal much better. If you hear upper mids that sound thin or borderline shouty, it's not the IEMs, your not getting a complete seal. These are reference quality with such low distortion measured at Audiosciencereview I can't believe they sell for peanuts. Sound isolation is not great with the plastic shells though. I'm going to try cutting a few layers of electrical tape, or automotive matte black vinyl wrap to coat the outer panel to see if isolation gets better. An Apple 3.5mm USB adapter is all you need with these. A low noise floor is most important. I have an audio equipment business, and keeping these as a reference for what zero distortion sounds like. Group delay is so clean, for gaming with sound effects like explosions they're really great. The only pair I have that's better is the Topping Hane, but they cost 5 times more. These are the best IEMs under that though. Just wish they had denser outer case material instead of plastic, but hope that will be easily remedied with a few coats of electrical tape cut in the shape needed. I'd post a photo, but I really don't want to stop listening to them :)

Works great when it doesn't fall apart out of the box.
I purchased the Truthear Gate twice. The first time, I bought it just to use its cable., but when I gave it a listen, I found it to be a fantastic sounding and fitting IEM. It feels like a cheap toy, but it sounds fabulous. I gave this pair to my sister because her Anker wireless headphones were on the fritz. I also gave her my Letshuoer Galileo (a $100 or $130? IEM) and she either prefers the Gate, or has no clear preference between the two. I prefer the Gate as the Galileo literally would not fit in my ear. Deciding that $15 was a worthy price to pay for such a good IEM (and a good cable), I bought a second unit and I went to listen to it to refresh my memory on what it sounds like. When I pulled it out the packaging, the nozzle just... Fell off as if it were never connected to the rest of the earpiece to begin with. The cable is great, though!

Worth every penny
Clean clear transparent audio. Comfortable and seem to be very durable. For paying less than $20 on these I have no complaints. I remember paying close to $500 for my first pair of in-ear monitors by m-audio back in 2007. I don’t know if these can take the amount decibels those could but all in all great product.

Nice cable
Pretty much another harman tuning. Slightly warm, but still mostly forward midrange. The bass is enough for the most part. If you compare them to the zero 2, these don't have nearly as much bass. They also sound slightly compressed, but that's something you find on most budget sets. The trebble is not bad at all. It isn't the smoothest but I say it's on par with the zero 2. This is basically a zero 2 but for the mids instead of bass. However, what sets it apart from the rest is the really nice cable. Simple, functional and light. It also comes with a little carrying pouch to store the iems in.

Truthear GatE
Väldigt bra bas, stark diskant, väldigt klart. War av Chief Keef och Waster av Bladee låter bäst i dessa hörlurar. Bladee’s röst blir övermänsklig.

Great IEMs, I really like them
There’s not much to say here. To get an IEM this clean sounding at this low price would be almost incredible if the measurements would not back it up. First, its response is pretty well matched to the Harman curve. Second, its group delay is really clean. And last, its distortion across the whole audible spectrum is vanishingly low at 104 dBSPL and even at an ear damaging 114 dBSPL. This is astounding performance for any headphones, let alone for ones this inexpensive. If you wonder why this matters the answer is rather simple: they sound rather good out of the box but you can also modify its EQ via DSP to match your liking quite easily. That low distortion means you can really push any tortured EQ curves with impunity. I use them on my desktop running JRiver via a Topping D50s DAC and a NAD preamp and on my iPhone running Foobar App via a Fosi DS2 DAC/ Amp. Both JRiver and Foobar have some form of DSP implementation which I used to tailor the sound of these headphones exactly to my liking. In the end this is a remarkable product I’m glad I purchased. The plastic construction is adequate however the wires could be longer. The included silicon tips are OK but I found Comply foam tips which I prefer as they fit well, isolate better (essential for getting good sound) and are more comfortable to wear for longer listening sessions/ running/ working out.
