If you have limited plays of the base, you don't need this yet, however, if you have played it as much as we have this expansion is nice to give you some different ways to score points. Most importantly it gives you more points for your butterflies. You get some more trees, some other cards too, but most importantly you get ways to balance out some of the ways people would normally win the base. Nice job here. I do wish some of the previously released expansion cards were easier to find or were reprinted, but the Alpine Expansion is a solid addition that adds a little more variety and balance / alternative paths of scoring to the game.
