For this gun it needs to be fairly thin. **Q: Will this work with oil base polyurethane?** A: Yes: Works Well but be sure to clean good when finished **Q: Can i leave paint in the canister, seal it, and reuse the next time?** A: Yes,if it's not left too long . I wouldn't leave it for more then a few days. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as better than I thought it would *by on Reviewed in the United States September 7, 2025* This is my first pneumatic paint sprayer and I bought it to paint about 300’ of PVC trim and about 320SF of 4x8 wood paneling. I painted all of it in about 8 hours and painted everything prior to installation which made it a lot easier than if had to tape around edges, cover windows, etc. The gun worked great and I’m very happy with it.I reviewed several other models but selected this based on reviews of others. I’m glad I spent the extra money and got this one. I think it was worth it.There’s only a few things I want to comment on. This air gun eats air, like goes through it really fast but I’m assuming this is similar for all pneumatic air guns. This is still the case even with the air controller knob set to its least consumptive setting. I have two 4 gallon compressors so rotated through the two and didn’t loose any time other than switching out the hoses.What I really like is that you can point the gun in several directions and it still sprays paint. The paint intake tube is angled so if you keep the can half full or more of paint, you can spray sideways or at a downward angle. I was spraying flat sheets of paneling and the gun was 90 degrees to it and worked without issue.After use, you need to disassemble it and clean it really good or the paint will dry on the internal pin and probably become useless. Again, not a problem to this model specifically, It’s probably the same for all pneumatic paint sprayers. I only say this because if you have a small job, probably easier to just use a roller and brush because it takes about 20-30 minutes to clean this.Helpful hint (maybe). Watch the air pressure. Manual says not to spray with less then 60psi. If your not watching the gauge and let the pressure drop below 40psi it starts to spitter and shoots little droplets of paint. Again, I just switched compressors and used one with plenty of air so this wasn’t a real problem for me but if you only have one compressor and it’s small, you might have a bit of wait time waiting on the compressor to build pressure so you can spray.All in all, a very nice, economical sprayer that worked really good for me at what I think was a fair price ($60). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Primer Gun !!!! *by on Reviewed in the United States July 19, 2016* It's perfect for it's intended purpose. This is an Automotive/Urethane/Acrylic lacquer/Enamel type gun.You are going to need to know what you're doing. It does need other equipment and supplies.Although I have read some have been able to spray Latex by watering it down this is notintended for that. That's what "Airless sprayers" are for (Wagner/Graco etc.). I'm using it forAcrylic Lacquer Primer and it is perfect in my shop. Low cost and I don' have to worry aboutit hardening up in the cup. Add a little thinner in the morning clear the cup air hole with a paperclip or wire and off I go. I don't even clean the thing other than the cap when itgets to gummed up. When it finally takes a dump I'll just get another at $30 bucks. Time is money !!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gun works but it needs attention before you can use it. *by on Reviewed in the United States July 23, 2015* I bought the gun after reading every review. I used to spray cars in a body shop and when my primer suction gun of 20 years finally went I researched this one. Honestly after running a gallon of automotive primer thru the gun it took almost as long to get the darn thing dialed in as it is very awkward with adjustments that are hard to find a happy spot. When I first got it I washed it in thinner to clean out a bunch of dust and debris from the box. I had to tighten all the nuts as the packings were all loose. Again, it took a while but it does spray automotive primer pretty good with the proper attention. Right out of the box it needs some love; just so you know. If I had to do it again, I probably would not buy this gun. I would spend a bit more and try a different model. Astro was the model I owned before and their quality was always good so felt safe buying it. Heck, I got 20 years from the last one. I'm sure this one will not go that long as the needles are 1/2 the diameters and it does not feel comfortable while spraying.
