Understanding emotions as an adult is hard enough...try being a kid! This has helped our 4yr old grandson sooooo much to not only understand emotional changes but he immediately associated with the pictures of the kids In the book and understood their emotions based on their facial expressions! On the flip side are ideas on how to cope with different emotions with icons that can be easily understood even if your child doesn't read yet or is learning to. He will go to the book, find the pic that fits his emotion, flip to the back and go do one of the activities suggested! It's awesome! He's gaining independence and learning to govern his emotions and then make healthy choices! Awesome!!
