I was looking for something else and this bright book I might just happen to be interested in caught my eye.. and I clicked... and it actually looked really good. There was a tinge of buyers remorse from an unplanned and impromtu purchase, but that was quickly alleviated a few hours (!!) later when the book arrived. It is bright and engaging, full of information which is presented in a fun and accessible manner. It is just the kind of book I loved as a kid. As luck would have it, my 5 year old is very much like my younger self, so I am positive she will love it when she opens it at Christmas. She is rapidly gaining confidence in her reading ability so she will have no problems reading this book and demonstrating her comprehension by explaining it to me (over and over again... probably when I'm in the middle of other things!) I heartily recommend this book for kids in the age bracket it is designed for.
