The enclosure has good build quality and is unlikely to move any HDD or SSD inside during travel. As some other reviewers pointed out (especially on Newegg), it will be very difficult to remove any hard drive once in the enclosure. Consider it a semi-permanent storage solution.I suspect that this enclosure, or at least the one I received, does not support UASP. I would get faster speeds than I've seen, even with a 5400 rpm hard drive. I attached a picture with the results for a HGST 640 GB, 5400 rpm hard drive. Speeds top out at around 93 MB/s for both reads and writes. With UASP, I should get speeds slightly above 100 MB/s with the same drive.Still, it will at least function just fine as a storage and backup device.

Purchased this when I found out my ASUS 551 came with a 1TB drive already occupying the HD slot rather than an mSATA. I removed the stock drive (2.5"; 9mm - comes with pads for 7mm) and placed it in this housing. Works great with standard HD, would likely perform much better with an SSD.Ease of Assembly - 5 StarsPrice - 5 StarsProfile - 5 Stars (slightly larger than the drive itself)Durability - Unknown at this point; have only used it for a few days so far--don't anticipate it will fail anytime soon.

This is a very thin and sleek aluminum case. I installed a Samsung 840 EVO 512 GB SSD into it.Unfortunately, I was only to get about 250MB/s read and write from it (ATTO and Crystal DiskMark), which leads me to believe there is some sort of bottleneck in the enclosure, as the SSD is capable of much faster speeds.I have seen USB enclosures that also advertise UASP support which benchmark higher, but none of them look as nice as this one.

Be gentle if you have to take it off. Once it's on it's solid but until it's on it's very flexible and easy to bend.Used it to take a 500gb drive out of a very old laptop and turn in into a 500gb backup drive I could stick in my safe.

Hard to open and easily scratched. Otherwise it works as intended has a Blue LED. Speed is good I just didnt like the case design. If you want to swap drives in and out of a case, this is NOT the case you want.

This is a snug fit for an SSD but it works well. The lid snaps onto the main case. The quality appears to be very adequate. The USB 3.0 speed appeared to be good. No problems.
