Try, Try and Try Again!
There have been a spate of possible dog napping's near where I live so I thought, can't be too careful and looked around for a good device, my initial findings were expensive and I thought I'd have to break the bank to protect my boy. Then I found the kippy website... Then I found it on here even cheaper. My experience with this device started off bad. I was more than ready to return it for a refund. I ensured to read all of the instructions that came with the device, and then went googling around and downloaded the PDF from the website with even more information on. After doing all this research I was pretty miffed when the device seemed to not work.I charged the device over night, for the 8 hours it requests and was ready and raring to go in the morning. First off, my curiosity got the better of me and I thought I'd try to attach the Kippy device to the bracket. Word of warning, don't do that setting it all up to working order. I subsequently couldn't get it off and had to go at it with a knife since the activation code and power switch was buried underneath it.After getting the bracket off, I set up my account, all fine and switched the device on. The green light came on and all seemed fine, until I tried to connect the device to my Kippy account. I kept going round in circles, it flashing green as it should; me leaving it to do its thing and coming back to find it flashing red instead. I went through this repeatedly which caused much stress, anger and retaliation on the device from myself. Just before my final attempt, 3rd hour in, the battery started to die too. It promises days upon days of charge and then failed after 3 hours off charge. Needless to say, I was ready to box it all back up and ship it on out of my life! However, after persevering and having just "one more try!" the fourth hour of trying was a success, it finally connected! Since then I have had no real problems but I do have a few minor issues:- I don't know whether I'm just too weak, but I'm unable to get the device off the bracket without pulling at it with a knife which could cause a few problems down the line if I need to get at the button on the back under the bracket.- I have a BIG dog and sometimes he can pull when he gets hold of a certain scent, normal dog stuff, but when I yank him back, the device goes flying off his collar. The single band holding it on is no good under too much movement. You will lose it if you don't find another way to attach it.- It takes a while to find the exact location of the device, which is a little worrying. All in all, I have tested the device while out and I have been able to locate the device down to a 300m area. Considering I only paid £99 for it whereas other places are £120-£170 and I had been looking at a top of the range model for £300, I can't complain too much.

DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY!!! The clip for this device is terrible it came off several times on my German Shepard. The GPS tracking is even worse! And the customer support is non existence. I lost my device walking in a wooded park area and after looking on my smart phone to find it, it told me the device was located 7 miles away in a built up urban area. When I informed the Kippy support team they told me the same thing. It was simply impossible that the device made it to someone's house that far away in a short space of time. Even when I looked in that location it wasn't there. Never saw a refund or any apologys do not buy it's an absolute waste

Definitely worth every penny
Love, love it, love it. Now when my cat goes off wandering, I can find him. We moved house 6 years ago (only a mile), but my cat still goes back to the old house and every time he went off I would worry about where he was and was he okay? He had a busy road to cross and I had lost his brother on the same road.Even when I am at work, I can keep an eye on him. I would highly recommend Kippy.

Not 100% reliable...
I purchased the kippy after my cat went missing. I have only had it a few days and am only 30% happy with the purchase. For starters I charged the device for the recommended 8 hours. In fact charged it overnight. Fixing the device is simple enough but it is way too big for a cat (even though my cat is a large male!) he did not find it annoying and took to it quickly although it looks terrible on him! Surely they can come up with a better device! That said we set him loose with his tracker and attempted to test it out in the evening. It took forever for the live tracking to connect and I find this the most unreliable part of the app which is the whole reason I bought it! Once it connected after about 30 mins of circling and not connecting however! it did finally locate my cat within 10m. The other issue I have is that the charge did not even last 24 hours! I had to charge it the next morning because the battery was as flat! Two things that need to be fixed on this! The location app (gps) connection and the size of the device! I paid R3000.00 in South Africa which is pretty steep for a gps device considering a garmin costs around the same price and gives you way better coverage and accuracy!

DIsappointing piece of kit
When it works its good. The problem is it often doesn't work. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to find a GPS signal. Today it failed to find GPS after 30 minutes. When I'm out with the dog next to me my phone can find the GPS signal and the network but the Kippy cannot. If you put it on the dog's collar it hangs down below and this may be part of the problem. A disappointing piece of kit.
