It works...kind of.
I've had better. Tinny sound is expected but this is very metal in that respect. The shortwave functionality is useless but does receive other bands rather well making it easy to find stations. As another reviewer mentioned "you get what you pay for." I concur. If you just need an emergency radio or something to fill a silent void in your day, it will work for that.

HanRongDa HRD-1032
I purchased one of these from another very well known e-commerce website. I am glad that I did because I ended up getting a late 2018 production unit. The newer ones are 9/10 kHz user selectable. The older ones were factory set. This receiver is hard to beat for the price ($13.77 shipped - from a US based seller). It is very sensitive and selective on all three bands. The performance on AM is outstanding to the point where this is truly a DXing machine for AM. FM is very good. SW pulls in lot of stations just via the telescopic antenna. You can clip some wire to the aerial to help with SW, but don't go crazy. Five or six feet is plenty. More than that will overload it.The sound quality through the speaker is decent. The build quality is pretty good. Don't drop it. The buttons work well and respond to a fairly light press. This radio is a very strong performer. If you think you might be interested in shortwave listening or AM DXing, the HRD-1032 would be a good choice.
