FTA Complete Glorystar Satellite One Room HD DVR - Free to Air Television

We were reluctant to purchase this because of the reviews, but thought we would give it a try. So glad we did!!We absolutely love this system. We get all the religious stations we wanted and very good quality programming.We called customer service 3 times with questions about set-up and they could not have been more friendly or helpful.Things I wish we had known beforehand:-It does take some time and patience to set up. You have to read the instructions very carefully and take your time.-Don't skip steps. We did this a couple of times and it did not turn out well. i.e. We did not put on the backup post support brackets before making the adjustments to receive the signal. We got the signal going and then when we added the support brackets it slightly moved the dish and we had to make adjustments to receive the signal again.-We found the signal specifications were not exact for us, but they were close enough to get us in the ballpark. We set all the measurements as they advised, but then we had to make adjustments until the signal came in. Therefore, we found when the instructions advised to keep some bolts loose, there was a good reason for it.Overall, we are very pleased with this product. It was exactly what we were hoping it would be.

I think that this item for me is very Bad . Since i buy it, i couldn't use it.I try everythings , but nothing to do , so i just throw it on my patio, waiting for the time to put it into the trash . I will never again buy something like that from this seller . I should get my money back .I'm so piced-of ,that i don't really know how to describe my hanger.Everytime i see it , i say , Man why did you buy it ? , Why did you waist all that money ? , And why couldn't you go to the store and buy it by yourself insted of online , cause you don't really know if it works or not .This stuff, is a pice of junk .....................................................................................................................................................................

Very difficult to set up without extra gear and tools. I purchased a tuner meter and a compass inclinometer duo to get it to work. It still does not work that well with only a few station - maybe it's my location.

The system works great. Good signal even way out in the country in Henagar Alabama. Over 70% signal level and 70% Quality reading on the easy to check screen that comes up in software on the TV.

I purchased this system and it is a good quality FTA setup. I haveexperience with 4 other brands of FTA satellite boxes, and this one(GLORYSTAR) is one of the easiest to use once you have the dish aimed properly.As with ALL FTA systems, it takes a little research and reading theFTA forums to get an idea what is needed to be successfull setting upyour dish. For example, a simple installer-meter makes setup wayeasier to do and they only cost 10 to 20 dollars. It is Well worth the investment.Also, you must investigate your installation location to be sure theGALAXY-19 satellite is "viewable" from your property (must be clear-sky not blockedby trees etc). It is worth the effort to overcome the minor frustrationsbecause when you are done, you will have about 200 channels of FREE televisionto enjoy... of which about 30 channels are in ENGLISH. The foreignchannels are interesting too, even though i don't know what they are saying.I give this unit 4 stars because it is easy to use and works well. It isdoes not have a PVR recorder, but they include everything needed for theinstallation, including 50 ft wire and a compass. By the way, the GALAXY 19satellite is located at 97 degrees on the satellite arc, which is due southfrom the center of the USA at a 45 degree angle looking up. These anglesare different if you live elsewhere than the center of the USA so you mustlook up that information for YOUR location at LYNGSAT.com or other sites.

I have had issues with this company & I DID call multiple times. Not only were the techs not helpful they were blasé, as though they were annoyed they had to help me. And believe me, they could care less if you get your service working or not. Why should they? They already got your money!!! Not only did I waste $250 on the equipment but I spent an additional $160 on 2 different people trying to install it. I paid them because it's not their fault this company is a scam!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!! Save your money. I'm calling the BBB tomorrow to file a complaint!

I have had this system for 2 years. I would recommend the HDVR 1200 Receiver and not the Micro HD. I originally bought the Micro. Within 6 months it malfunctioned. I sent it in. They found it was a glitch in the unit. They told me they had gotten 3 or 4 back with that particular problem. I asked them if I could replace it with the 1200 which was about $30.00 more. They said sure and they would not charge me for the upgrade and paid the postage. The man had years of service with the company was very nice and very knowledgeable. There is a bad review here but the guy can't even speak English. I love the system.

I have been through a couple different receivers over the 8+ years I have been using this service. Clear view of the Southern sky and a good installation is mandatory. The satellite is not as powerful as Dish or DirecTV so the dish is larger and requires careful alignment for best results. I can receive over 200 channels although most are in foreign languages. The primary English broadcasts are religious programming. This service is not a substitute for commercial entertainment television broadcasting.
