Excellent
This is a really funny, interesting and honest zoooom through decades of change that I remember very well. Robert has a really keen eye for Everything and real skill in getting that over to the reader. Really recommended and a great way to groove through some kickdown time.

A Great Read.
Very enjoyable book providing a good reminder of youth fashion that I can identify with. Easy read and well written nostalgic look back at at time of what you wore mattered.

Great book, a credit to the author.
Just loved reading this book, got totally immersed in Mr Elms reminisces of his childhood ubringing, one for the connissuer of clothing throughout the ages, lived it myself..This book is as good as it gets, a socialogical, cultural and look back to the past insight into the way we were (wore)

London, Clothes...what's not to like?
I regularly listen to Robert Elms as a radio presenter and his knowledge of London is always interesting to listen to. This book contains some great bits about London as well as the sartorial side of the various tribes that I grew up with. A very entertaining read that I would reccomend.

Enjoyed this book &
Enjoyed this book &, in particular, reliving the mod/skinhead fashions of the late 60's early 70's which I was very much a part of. Couldn't relate so much to the rest of the youth movements & thrir garb ie punks, new romantics, goths etc., but it was still interesting to read this from the perspective of someone who was very much at the centre of things. I'm a fan of Robert Elms, but my opinion was coloured & somewhat revised upon discovering mid-read that he doesn't rate The Beatles - oh well, I suppose there's always one!

Nice take on youth culture and fashion
Interesting book on fashion and youth culture, deeper than the average book on that and some nice personal details. An old mod at heart.

British Youth Culture once ruled the world
Very interesting read. Covers it all. QPR singing "My dog sleeps on FILA!" was my particular highlight. Don't read it with ebay to hand or you will rebuy all your forgotten threads.
