The fixed-ring model is the most popular kneeboard. The convenience of the snap-open, ring binder design makes it ideal for quickly changing pages, charts and checklists. Pilots flying into multiple airports or flying a variety of planes will find the fixed-ring design perfectly suited for them.

You will not be disappointed! Stop looking and buy this one.
This is a great product! Made here in the USA. It came with 6 plastic inserts with vfr info, time conversions, ifr info, airspace info, a wind comp chart, and some other helpful inserts. I printed out the checklist for my aircraft and slid them right into the plastic holder. The best part is after a little modification to my ipad mini case, I was able to clip it right onto the kneeboard! I suppose you can buy the ipad holder, but if you already have a case its pretty easy to figure out a way to modify it to clip in the rings of the kneeboard. The strap is comfortable. The pen holders are snug. Velcro does what its supposed to do with no issues of it pulling off. I currently carry my ipad mini, the six inserts front and back (12 pages of information I can use for vfr flight), a sectional, a notepad, my pilot certificate, a stylus pen, a marker, a flashlight pen, and my ipad power cord in the pocket. This thing is great.

Good quality!
This is a nicely made kneeboard. I usually wear my kneeboard on my left leg, but the spring rings rub against the collective in the R-44 I'm flying, so I have to wear it on my right leg. If you are a helicopter pilot buying this kneeboard, you might want the model without the rings.

Do not buy this kneeboard!
Not a very good design... as a matter of fact mine wound up getting returned. I fly helicopters and can tell you this is just too bulky to fit in cramped cockpit. The velcro leg strap is not particularly well designed and the clipboard is not like the one pictured. If you are looking for a good kneeboard that is well constructed I'd point you to flywings.com (mini trifold in particular is very compact) or get a flyboys kneeboard. I've had both and they both are much more comfortable and useful than this design from Harper Aviation.

Just What The Doctor Ordered
I love this kneeboard. Was turned onto it by my flight instructor. Holds onto Jepp size approach charts in the ring binder portion and allows a small paper pad to be attached with a friction clip. All in all just what I needed and rugged.

Most Wonderful Pilot's Legboard
This is an excellent design for use as a "trifold" a pilot straps to his or her leg, keeping all hardcopy information ready for quick access in the cramped geography of the cockpit. I used a similar item in the USN as a test parachutist, going over charts and other important criteria such as test / mission objectives, rates of descent data, etc, just before unstrapping it prior to going out the door for my test jump. Our pilots used this type design always, as far as I remember. Now you can use one also, based on the former USAF pilot / trifold designer's excellent modifications. With the Jeppesen type rings and pockets you can add whatever you need. Pockets for pens, palm flashlight, even a neat area to hold one's old-school flight computer, and a clip to lock in other papered documents as well as a quick-release (velcro-ed) plastic strap to tie down a chart or two too large to go in the folder pockets. Those I know who use this leg-trifold cherish this item as much as their precious headsets and will not go to the airfield without it.I cannot see anyone being disappointed with it. The gifting holidays are on the quick horizon. A good "stocken stuffer" for any pilot, regardless their level or flying type.Cheers

My favorite kneeboard.
Going on over three years strong and over 1600 hours this is still my go to kneeboard. I'm always recommending it to other pilots.
