Great Capsule Holder for Filling and Weighing.
I love it. I mainly use it to split supplements into two doses. For example I take Life Extension Mega K. It was most cost effective to buy this particular supplement and split it, doubling the quantity of pills at the lower dose I wanted. I insert the capsule into this unit to hold it in place while I open the supplement capsule and slowly twist to release the powder. It’s much better than holding one capsule in your hand.I also use it to reduce a medication dosage in small increment. I weigh a pill on a gem scale you can buy on Amazon for $20. Calculate a small dose reduction. Pulverize the pill in a small porcelain mortar and pestle previously tarred on the gem scale. Remove the little bit to the calculated weight, then scoop the rest up with this unit. The only issue I see is the capsules will fall out. So I’m tilting the small mortar as I’m scraping up the powder. You could also tare the tool and capsule, then scoop to the desired wight, but excess powder could collect on the tool and throw the weight off. As far as scooping goes… I think it’s better for scooping and filling a capsule all the way, or a small, pre determined amount out of a small cup.Regardless of scooping, the tool is great as a capsule holder for filling by micro funnel or scoop, then weighing the fill amount by tarring the tool and capsule before hand.. I found it easier to order larger capsules than need for easier scooping and filling, but again I’m precisely weighing each capsule.

A very cool tool for partially filling capsules
This clever little tool is very effective for putting powders in capsules. The other two methods are either 1) not able to accurately put a specific amount into each capsule (the bulk filling trays) or 2) very slow and messy (the little spoons and tamper kits). This slick tool is quick, neat and very easy to use. Ignore the other reviews that complained about the lack of instructions (it's a no-brainer), the rough texture of the plastic or that it broke easily (don't use it to open beer bottles!)

A simple piece of paper pointing out what each portion of the item was used for and why it existed
Here’s your revised message with the change:---The reason I am returning this item is that, while it includes six test capsules, it comes with absolutely no user manual or instructions. I have no idea how to properly use it. It would have been so simple for the company to include a basic 4x4 instruction sheet explaining what each part is for.I'm sorry, but this design is completely unclear. There are two double zero capsule holes, but then there's a small dimple in the middle that I cannot for the life of me figure out the purpose of. What is it for? How is it supposed to be used? The company could have easily provided a simple diagram labeling each part, and that alone would have convinced me to keep the product. But since they didn’t bother, I’ll be finding a competitor who actually provides clear instructions.

Perfect for my needs
I have many health issues and must make my own capsules with different supplements as I cannot take gelatin or glycerin caps. This is a handy little tool that I use. I bought the 000 and the 0 ones. I already had a capsule maker for 00 that makes a hundred at a time, but they no longer make or cannot sell those types of capsule fillers I assume because of the illegal drug trade. That really screws people like me as at times I need larger capsules so I don't have to take so many. Anyway this little tool is rather time consuming to use but works great. I saw someone else post that it was flimsy. I have not found it to be weak at all. Of course I make sure I shake whatever powder or herb I am using to fill it with and I never try to pack it in on the side of the container. I use a tamper for capsules if I feel I really need to press it in. I actually bought the 000 size so I could easily fill up to l gram without having to compact it. Works like a charm. I haven't used the small one yet, but I assume it will be just fine as well. I think the only drawback to these fillers is that sometimes the capsule does not want to release and you have to push it out with a toothpick or something, but the filler part is a tube so not really a big deal. Anyway, they can be a bit pricey with the shipping but I haven't found anything else like them anywhere and they definitely suit my needs.

IT WORKS, BUT IT COULD BE BETTER!
I got this to fill some extra small capsules with a medicine I take. Having the capsule work like a "scoop" at the end of a stick worked for getting the medication from the bag to the capsule. However, the plastic material it's made out of has a significant texture to it. As such, all the powdered medication wanted to stick to that surface. And when I tried to remove the capsule from the scoop, the powder made it very difficult to pull it out. I wound up getting tweezers to remove the capsule.I love the idea they came up with for filling a small number of capsules, but I think they could have executed better with a glossy smooth finish that wouldn't hold on to the powder you're trying to get into the capsule.
