Recoil Pull Start Starter Assembly Compatible With Hayter Harrier 41 & 48 Lawnmowers

You need to drill out 4 rivets. Use a large drill bit to take off rivet head. Take note of where the old pull cord exits. Place the new part on pop rivet back on good to go. Recoil works nice pull handle is good mower back in good shape. Phew!

Despite giving this 5 stars all round, I have to rate it 4 for having no discernable features about it indicating it might be a genuine Hayter part. That said having fitted it a few weeks ago and run it several times starting the machine numerous times during the course of each cut, I have to say it certainly seems to bear the quality of a genuine Hayter part. Does not fit on Hayter 41 as advertised. Fixing holes do not line up.Managed to use the chord! Expensive piece of string!

Excellent drop in replacement for my petrol mower. The cord broke on my much used lawn mower. I had to order a pop rivet gun so I could install it as per the original method, but no problem both items came the next day. My grass did not suffer as my mower was back in action.

Requires removing rivets.

Perfect; great product and long enough cord to go back through the handle loops per the original.You need to drill out the old rivets - use a big drill bit and just cut the top off - and then carefully realign the new assembly with the holes. One tip - make a mark where the cord outlet on the old starter is before removing it. Small dot of tippex does the job.UPDATE: After a few weeks of use, this has stopped working all the time. The latching mechanism that engages when you pull the starter chord only works intermittently. Pity - it was so good when originally fitted - hence my downgrade from 5* to 3*. I will try and take things apart and hope its just the very high temperatures of late but I fear not.

It does the job. A little different from the original, but works. Very happy
