Great paper for menus
TerraSlate Paper 8.5" x 14" (8 MIL) is an excellent choice for menus due to its durability and easy-to-clean surface. The waterproof feature ensures it can withstand spills and frequent handling without damage, making it ideal for restaurants. Its sturdy construction means it holds up well over time, while the bright white color keeps the print sharp and vibrant. Perfect for environments where durability and cleanliness are key.

Great for menus!!
We use these in our restaurants and they work so well for our menus. With COVID currently going on, the water proof paper makes it easy to sanitize menus in between guests. It also looks more elegant than laminating the menus.

Its weather resistant.
We have a small residential real estate brokerage house and were looking for a product where we could update “for sale” fields on our aluminum for sale signs - something we could print at our offices at low cost. This was the perfect thing.

The MOST EXPENSIVE PAPER ON THE PLANET...
...but it is durable. I've tried scrubbing the paper with water and a rag after printing on it, and it held up. It's waterproof, as it claims to be, but "crease proof" -- nope, I can bend it, crease it and it's not perfect...but it does hold up pretty well. I even tried tearing it with my hands, but it was more like plastic in the way it stretches and warps without "ripping". Overall it's quite durable, but at its cheapest (when you purchase in large bulk) it's $1.43 PER PAGE. That's close to printing on pure gold.

Incredible specialty paper
So, I can confirm this paper is certainly water and rip proof. In testing a few sheets, it was clearly unaffected by full submersion, nor would it tear with even a high degree of effort. It did stretch and deform noticeably, but did not tear. The paper, itself, has a nice feel and weight to it. I typically print on 32lbs (12g) with 100 brightness rating. This 8mil paper is very similar in weight, feel, and brightness - a little heavier, but very comparable. It has the feel of a quality light cover/heavy book weight paper. The biggest difference I could observe was not anything I could see, but rather hear. The sound that the paper makes when you bow it definitely takes on a more plastic tone, but I wouldn't necessarily describe the paper as looking or feeling "plasticy". It really feels like a nice, heavier, matte paper. And with the high brightness rating, printing in color on my HP LaserJet Pro 451 produced bright, vibrant, professional-looking prints.Of course, by most standards, the sheet cost of this paper is exceptionally expensive, so it is best suited for commercial use, in my opinion. Menus, maps, training guides - really anything that might be exposed to damaging environmental conditions is where this paper will shine. Perhaps there is even a use case for sensitive documents like contracts and wills that could benefit from an added degree of protection. For my use, I've been wanting to hand bind my own cookbook and this paper is perfect for my needs - whether printing full recipes or template pages to fill in later, I love the idea of having a water/oil proof book that can withstand the rigors of the kitchen. The paper, though expensive, is quite impressive and certainly worth the spend if you need to create documents that will last.

Excellent For Marine Charts and Outdoor Maps
At $1.42 per page (for the 250 sheet pack), this paper is pricey, but it’s not meant to be used for normal printing jobs and has some unique qualities that are hard to find short of laminated prints. I got these to use to print up charts for use on my boat and maps when out in the forest exploring. There’s such great software out there nowadays that allow you to print your own charts and maps with just the area you need and with customized info, but the paper has always been a weakness. Laminating works but if you use thin laminating sheets they’re not as durable, and thicker ones make it impossible to fold and easily store in a pocket. This paper solves that problem for me. It’s nice and bright so it’s easy to read, and it handles saltwater spray just fine without ruining or smearing the print. Best of all, it’s still thin and flexible enough that I can fold it up nice and small in my pocket. To me, it’s a game changer for my outdoor navigation needs and is more than worth what is, admittedly, a pretty steep price.

Read before use
Lost about half of my paper to trial and error. After calling a friend (who owns a print shop) for help. We called TerraSlate together to discuss the issues I was having. It was then he confirmed what I discovered. The paper sticks together dude to static, before using, make sure you fan the paper out to remove any static keeping it together, this will prevent paper jams. Next it's best to run a few sheets of regular paper before starting your job, as heating up the printer helps the ink adhere to the paper better. Also, just your printer settings, there are certain settings that need to be used to get the best quality print. I wish I could tell you the settings, but I left that up to my friend to handle (and I'm sure everyone's printer varies). So before you print, if you are uncertain call TerraSlate for assistance, give them your printer info, and definitely purchase more than you need. You may lose a few pages to errors and jams... I lost half mine, and this paper is not cheap. On a positive note, the ones I did manage to print came out amazing! Unfortunately, I'll have to purchase more to replace what was lost...
