Bought these to try as fed up with leaving out 'regular' hose. First one broke instantly. Customer service brilliant, and a replacement was sent without quibbles. To be honest, you get what you pay for. I personally found these great to start with but once the novelty had worn off they were actually very annoying. The connectors to the taps sprung off at every opportunity spraying everyone and everything in range, and resulting in a sprint back to the tap to turn it of and get soaked! If you pulled it even slightly when at a far distance, again, it came off at the tap end. They sprung leaks after a few uses, and don't even think about using warm water to fill a paddling pool - it practically exploded! I had 2 connected together, which worked fine but the added length made it a nightmare when turning the tap on if you hadn't laid it out beforehand and it errupts into a mess of hose to unravel. Have gone back to traditional hose and won't be using this type again - too high maintentance and not really built for usual garden use, unless you're plants are relatively close to your tap.

Does exactly as advertised and expands to 100feet but - all X-hose buyers beware - one you release the pressure by pressing the trigger on the spray gun to spray water (all spray settings), the hose attempts to retract to its former size of 35m so you cannot sustain the pressure and a good flow of water over a 100m distance, the science of decreasing water pressure will not allow it. Whilst the water is still 'trapped within a closed hose at both ends, it will remain at approx 100m long, but watch it 'shrink' and feel the pull if used at full stretch as the hose retracts to a much smaller size

We bought this to connect to an existing x hose. We go caravaning and they are excellent for topping up the water barrel from the site mains tap without moving the barrel. We have only had the new hose for a couple of days and it does the job very well. You have to remember to let the unconnected end drain and for the hose to contract before disconnecting from the mains, or else the pressure means that you get a soaking when you disconnect. I speak from experience! I gave 4* because the fittings are quite brittle and cheap and not as good as those on our 'original' x hose. It's a shame, as for a little bit extra care and pride in the product, they would produce a better quality all round hose.

I'd already got a 50ft hose elsewhere and really liked it but wanted one to reach further. Found this one at really good price on Amazon. Delivered when promised. Fitted it to outside tap and it worked but there was constant drip from where it connected to tap and a slight drip from where the gun was attached. The 50ft one has never dripped. I was going to return it but decided to try it on the tap in the utility room. No drips from connection to the tap so decided to keep it as the drip from the gun connection was still there but for the price I was okay with that. Have used it quite a lot and it stretches easily to the end of both front and back gardens.

Although the concept is a sound one and the hose does exactly as described, expanding and contracting when expected, I have found the outer fabric has worn too readily and I now have a hole! I am having to replace the wholw thing as I can't see how to fabricate any sort of repair?John

I bought one of these from a different seller originally, liked it and thought it was good value for money. When I went to buy another two, the original seller had sold out, so I placed an order with the latest vendor. Unfortunately the quality was not the same, so a bit disapointed.

Product fine for the price however, as I think other reviewers have said, it probably on covers half of the length stated on the box. Very lightweight though which is ideal for my elderly mother-in-law. Would be perfect for a smaller garden than advertised.

Work.s ok but once you've used the initial water in the hose you need good high pressure to keep it working
