Perfect for my needs: wanted to mount a multi socket PDU in a rack case, which would then have two unusually deep wall warts plugged in, meaning that the case lid would not fit. Easily solved with these units: remove the regular rack ears from the PDU, drill and fit these units. Job done - the PDU is now recessed about 5/6 cm, enabling the wall warts to stay in place and the back lid to fit.
