been looking for this for ages , great song .

I know it is only a single, I know its hard to go crazy about a band having only listened to them once, I know Mr Brightside has stolen many influences from this side of the pond and I do know that there is a massive influx of these 80's style rock/punk/pop groups with huge vocalsits and cleaver musicianship, but this noise has blown me away in the past week. The heavy tinges of emo vocal with the desperate claim "it was only a kiss" and the brilliant confidence of "destiny is calling.." give this single an edge that is lacking from similar bands such as Stellastarr and My Morning Jacket (both very good bands.) The beautiful guitars and cleaver drum beats encapsulate the feeling of paranoia in this record and leave the listener desperate to hear more. The Killers are coming and they couldnt have chosen a better time to reach our shores!

The Killers, pretty new on the block. I'd not heard of them before, yet I only had to see the video to this once on TV to get hooked. I snapped this up when I saw it in the shops, and was not disappointed with such an impulse buy, having only heard it a couple of times. Looking at the picture in the CD sleeve you'd assume them to be another clone of 'The Strokes' but once you hear this song, that is changed. Take away some of the guitar/drums and you have a song that could easily fit into the 80s. This certainly has all the elements of a great song - 'killer' lyrics, quirky tune that sticks in your mind, though is lacking on extras, having only one extra track which is good but could have been better for such a great main track. However, these guys show they have great potential to be big, and big they will be.

I think this song is becoming seriously bad for my health, it seems like it is constantly on repeat, and it really is a good ( too good!!) soundtrack for procrastination when you really should be revising!!! ( its only first year uni - a pass will do!!) Yes, it is that addictive!!!! The classic electro - rock feel is still ( if not so obvious)there like with 'somebody told me' so if you like your music with a little of that ohhhh so brilliant 80's vibe, this is right down your street!! If your into your indie music like Jet, the vines, strokes yayadayayda this is your cup of tea, but really should appeal to just about everyone, even me!!! because really at heart I'm an emo kid!!! So check it out!!!! And while you at it, check out the debut album - " hot fuss" ( June 7th), so far of what i've heard this is going to be one of my favourite debut albums of the year, my personal favourite song at present being Indie rock 'n' roll. Its the killers for me!!!
