This 2 pack was purchased for our backyard flock. We put off putting it together as most of our hens were NOT at laying age yet. We finally assembled them and got them put up in the coop. At first, our hens wouldn't use them. Not a huge surprise, these are the same hens that refuse to sit on the roost (bunch of picky chickens). They have finally started laying in the boxes, but only after we've covered the bottom in a fair amount of bedding.Having to put extra bedding in to get the hens to lay in them means that the rollaway feature doesn't work for us, there's simply too much stuff to make it possible. The good news is that when without the eggs rolling to the front for easy collection, they are now much easier to find than when our hens had decided to lay a clutch of 20+ eggs UNDER our coop.I will say, the instructions could have been a bit clearer. But despite not having clearly marked pieces or ideal instructions, each set of nesting boxes only took about 25 minutes to put together.They are incredibly easy to clean as well, we simply lift them off the hooks and remove the bedding and spray with a hose as needed.

The concept is great but the space is too small. My hens stick out of the box and the eggs typically crack because they hit the edge of the tray (hen’s vent sticking out over the edge. Also, the rollaway space isn’t deep enough and the hens peck the egg trying to get it back. I was returning these but missed the return time by a few days. Also, the space to try and connect the nut and bolt to put this together is in difficult and tight space.

Love the nest boxes. Easy to assemble and able to be installed myself. All my girls love them! If adding small amount of shavings they can get pushed into the roll away portion but otherwise wonderful product!

Removable trays make cleaning a breeze. Easy to assemble.

These worked well for my situation. You can’t put any nesting material in the boxes though because it slides down into the tray and blocks the eggs from rolling down.

I love these nesting boxes, but my chickens hate them! I have had them up for three weeks and they have not even used them once. I even put them in there but they just jump out. I tried putting fake grass in them,Nope! I put a curtain up, Nope! They just refuse to use them. I have 22 hens that just started laying. Their favorite box is a roll away that I made.I love these boxes! They are easy to keep clean. the dirt falls through and what doesn't, you can just slide the bottom out and clean it. Its too bad that they hate it.
