Nice, rocked-up collection
The Goblin saga continues! Simonetti left New Goblin and is now playing as 'Claudio Simonetti's Goblin' (Most of the original Goblin members seem to be touring as plain old Goblin now) with the people who were in his other band, Daemonia. It's disappointing that Simonetti chose to re-record Goblin hits., but these are quite different in places, with Phenomena being rocked up with a great prog section at the end, and this works well, but I didn't like the theme to 'Dawn of the Dead' done this way as much as the original recording. It seemed to lose the drama and replace it with a more mundane rock sound.A good introduction to Simonetti's take on Goblin, though, but I am more interested in hearing some new material in a similar style.

A fine collection of new recordings of old favourites.
Claudio Simonetti's version of "Goblin" features his "New Goblin" and "Daemonia" band mates Bruno Previtali and Titta Tani and "Daemonia" bassist Federic Amorosi. This is a collection of new recordings of classic Goblin material. There is a solid retro analog feel to all the recording which reproduced the original tracks but add new elements and performance flourishes. It remains true to the inventive sounds of the original Goblin while adding some of the harder rock rhythm section of the New Goblin's 2013 EP and Daemonia's "Zombi/Dawn of the Dead" recording. Some exquisite musicianship throughout.
