The lights are reasonably bright and also have a flashing SOS signal mode that could help rescue personnel locate you if you are in distress. They are rechargeable and have air/water tight caps that protect the charging ports dirt and moisture. They also include a wrist lanyard and a hands-free strap that allows you to wear it on your forearm. I liked these versus other safety flashlights for boating because the switches are magnetically controlled and as a kayaker is is not unusual to get wet where other boating safety lights are triggered when exposed to water. Their is a lock mechanism for the switch with parts that do not seem to be very rugged. For the price and getting two of these lights for emergency purposes the risk is minimal compared to the benefit.

Seems like a quality flashlight but the on/off switch does not work. Comes on when charged and will not shut off until battery is dead. Very disappointed.
