The feeder is excellent quality! It was very easy to install. I didn't use their directions. I just put it on a block and marked the holes with a pencil. Then I moved the feeder, inserted the screws and installed the feeder on the screws. It's very secure and the chickens used it right away. It holds a lot of feed! Love that it's made in the USA!

I found these feeders after returning a previous purchase. This hopper style feeder is the BOMB!!! The feed is controlled into the base rather than a straight shot to waste in the coop like other competitors' version. Bypass any look alike and go directly to DUNCAN's. These are made in the USA, the quality is massively above the others and the design is done right. Do no waste your time with others - stop shopping and get you these. I purchased two for my brooding coop - chicks took right to it without issue. This is built properly to not overflow with feed and also does not allow the chicks to take roost on top of the feed. Thank you Duncan - you have a buyer for life!!

Really love this feeder. Came back to purchase another a few months ago for my second coop. You can see in the picture I have it sitting on a cinder block instead of mounting to the wall. It is bottom heavy, even more so with the food inside. I have the feeder sitting this way in both coops with no issue. You can see in the photo that I have silkies and 5 month pullets, even my big cockerel, using it together. I have 14 total using this one and 16 full grown chickens using the other in another coop. I can fill this thing up and it will last several weeks, perfect for peace of mind during summer vacation. (I do have someone checking on my chickens). I find that this feeder I can fill to the top about once a month and it’s good. Makes it so easy!! It’s easy to clean, impossible to roost on. I do not use these outside. They stay right inside the coop doors. I use a trough outside that’s easier to move around. I can’t say enough about the Duncan brand. I will likely never have to replace these as they are built for lifetime, multigenerational use.

I love my chickens, but I am a Midwesterner at the core and I wince at waste. That's why I decided to try out this product. I was tired of my chickens scratching the poultry crumbles out of their old feeder, and I was aggravated that in my new home state of Florida, everything that touches the ground turns to mold in like 24 hours. The waste hurt my wallet, and the moldy crumbles had the potential to hurt my chickens.Enter the Duncans Poultry Space Saver. Propped up on a base of patio pavers (because I just haven't had the time to do the between-the-studs installment yet), this thing is chicken-scratching proof and sturdier than a Swede at a World's Strongest Man contest. I keep the feeder in the chicken run, and the gales of blowing rain that seem to be a staple of Florida summers haven't been able to budge this thing, or drive any leaks into it. Also, I am so glad I went with this and not the kind of feeder that is permanently open at the top. This is just not the state for that design. So to sum up, I would give this thing 11 of 10 stars if I could.

The guide for mounting the feeder is not correct! I’m glad I measured first. Additionally, the listing states it’s 14 inches wide. If you include the bolts on the sides that allow the lid to be lifted & lowered, it’s about 14.5 inches. Unfortunately, the location I need to mount this had 2 studs exactly 14 inches apart.

This saves me so much time not having to go out every day to feed the girls. Keeps them from just throwing the feed on the ground. Fill this up and frees you up to do other things. I do suggest installing it. Says the height it is to be installed is the base of the chickens neck 🐔. This will help keep the mice out.

I really wanted to love this! It’s really well made and fits a lot of feed but when I put a camera in the coop we des covered mice were ALLLL over it!!!! We caught 11 mice in 2 days with bucket traps! I returned it and plunked down the money for a grandpas feeder and no longer have a mice issue!

I got this to replace my old, galvanized bucket feeder. That one broke. Also, the big issue I had was that when it rains (which is often in s Florida), the feed would get wet and I had to dig out the funky feed, replace, clean, etc. also, y chickies used to jump on top of that feeder and make a mess. This new feeder has resolved both issues. We e even getting rain every day for a couple of weeks now... heavy rain... and the feed stays nice and dry. No mess, healthier, no waste. Also, the shape, and sloped top keep the girls from wanting to roost on it. It holds a lot of feed too so I don’t have to fill it back up very often. Yea... It’s been actually pretty great. Very solid construction. It’s not cheep price wise... but worth every penny ... and more. Yes, I recommend this chicken feeder.
