Cheap price for a 240mm AIO, average performance but outperformed by my Alpenfohn K2 mount doom air cooler.
I would have kept my Alpenfohn K2 (which I purchased for less than half price during an online sale 18 months ago for £28 incl p+p). Sadly, my K2 met it's demise after a very unfortunate accident. Anyways, build quality on the Lepa 240AC is good. Nice, chunky and sturdy tubes and pump (which is mostly metal). Pretty solid radiator. This unit comes with a 2 years manufacturer warranty (it says so on page 1 of the manual). Installation is a pain in the neck (as with all AIO's as you have to hold the bracket and pins in place with one hand whilst trying to install screws with the other hand).Performance wise, it is okay. With my FX9590 at idle, it sits at 31c with this Lepa (my K2 with 2 of the Noctua industrial 3K-rpm fans would keep my cpu between 29-32c at idle). Under 15 minute load with prime95, my FX9590 with this AIO went up to 64c. In comparison, my K2 also went up to 64c. After stopping Prime95, my K2 would get my FX9590 back down to 30c-32c within 40 seconds. With this AIO, what worries me is that it has taken 23 minutes for my FX9590 to settle down to 35c (it took about 30 seconds to get from 64c to c.42c). BTW, I am not using the Lepa fans on the radiator. I am actually using my pair of Noctua industrial 3K-rpm fans (110CFM each!).Another thing to note with my unit is that the fitting screws used to secure the pump to the motherboard keep spinning. That means, when I try to tighten them with their respective female to male screws, the 'bolts' keep spinning. That means I cannot get a tight fit onto my cpu.BTW, with BOINC-SETI running in the background, my K2 would go to 45c but after turning off BOINC, my K2 would get my FX9590 back to normal 30c/31c within 20 seconds. This Lepa AIO unit gets my cpu to 46c when running BOINC, but then takes about 15 mins to get it back down to 35c.For a dual fan AIO, it really is a good price at £54 but the performance is not as good as expected (plus I have the spinning screws issue). So I am on the fence with this. I may well return it for a refund and get a Noctua NH-D15 or Cryorig R1 (but they are expensive at £70 a pop).
