Safes provide the perfect environment for mold as they are dark, musty, and often times humid. Now imagine being able to leave your safe for 6-8 weeks at a time, knowing full well that all your moisture is being sucked out of the air. This is exactly what our friends over at Eva-Dry were thinking when they came up with the E333 Dehumidifier. It's so simple, you just hang the Eva-Dry in any enclosed space and the moisture is absorbed automatically, with no batteries to replace or cords to plug in. There is an indicator window with special "moisture meter crystals" that change from orange (when dry) to green (when wet) to indicate when the unit needs to be renewed. The unit will absorb approximately six ounces of moisture (depending on humidity levels, this should take between six to eight weeks). Once the moisture has been adsorbed, it cannot leak or spill. This unit uses a specially engineered crystallized silica gel that is odorless, non-toxic and completely safe When the indicator crystals turn green, it is time to recharge the unit. Simply plug it into a power outlet or power strip in a well ventilated area (bathroom with extraction fan, garage, outside, etc.). There is a built-in heater that will warm the crystals allowing them to expand and release the moisture as water vapor into the outside air. It takes about 12 to 14 hours to completely recharge the unit. When it is completely renewed, the indicator crystals will change back to orange. The unit is again ready to absorb more moisture. Works well but I prefer the previous model
I have had the previous model for over five years in my gun safe and it still works like new. I bought a second one recently because I moved to a much more humid location and wanted some extra protection from moisture in the safe.The new model is larger - a good thing - but the color change of the media inside it is much more difficult to determine. I have questioned myself regarding the unit’s dryness or need to be plugged in to dry.I would still recommend it but caution the user to look carefully at the change in color of the drying media.

Great dehumidifier for cabinets
We live in a fairly humid area so needed something to keep cabinets dry. The dehumidifier ships shrink wrapped and ready to use. It takes a few hours to recharge, but lasts several weeks between recharging. I replaced a smaller similar unit and this one is awesome!

Not as good as the ones I bought a few years ago
I got a multi pack of these some time ago at Costco and they were great. They finally seemed to wear out (several years old) and I wanted to replace them. This one had a different hanger and it was no good. It also does not seem to work as well...needs to be recharged more often and does not seem to recharge as well either. Still, I like it better than those bags that collect water.

Shipped super fast. Product arrived nicely packaged and ready to go. Simple instructions. Beads inside viewing window were orange and ready to go. It fit quite well and out of the way in our large gun safe.

Keeps air dry
Own several of the E-333 dehumidifiers and they work well, just recharge when needed.

Product doesn't hold up for more than a few months
Bought 2 for a boat and Safe. After less than 6 months, they would not recharge and the plug in the back of the units showed charring, which could be a fire hazard. Would not recommend this product at all.
