Disappointing
Unfortunately Captain Taylor spends much of this book writing about the Citadel, sailing, hunting wild turkeys, life on a farm, becoming a military pilot and other memories.I bought this book believing the title and subtitle: Wheels Up - Sky Jinks in the Jet AgeUnfortunately less than half of the book is dedicated to his time as a commercial pilot. Disappointing overall, bordering on false advertising. One noteworthy exception is his search for the blacksmith's grave and how he repaid his debt to the old man.Ultimately, if I had known I wouldn't have.

Passing down cherished memories ...
An accomplished pilot, author Steve Taylor writes down his fondest life memories in this book. What comes across so wonderfully is the honesty of his narration. Whether recalling a practical joke or reminiscing over a powerful life moment, the text exudes a clear sense of identity. There is no politically correct finesse. And it's this raw truth, a look at growing up just one generation removed from today's world, that offers something fresh.

Good read at the gym
Entertaining and like a collection of short stories you could take to the gym and take up where you left off. Will definitely look to see if Steve has other books

Worth the read
A well written memoir of a lengthy and well enjoyed career at an airline that Captain Taylor took a lot of professional pride in flying for.

A pilots life
Enjoyable and mostly light hearted look on a career pilots life. Good story and some stories of his life experiences. Well told and interesting to read.

A story for all you airline buffs...
A very good avation read, covers flying traveling working away from home and lots of humor. Also the grand days of the airlines. Wish they were here again.

Light series of aviation stories from the author's career.
Light entertainment with a few informative vignettes thrown in. If you read it for entertainment, and like aviation, you will be fine.

Great read! As a Delta pilot coming to the line a few after CAPT Taylor, I could relate to every story he told! A few had me practically on the floor laughing so hard! Highly recommended for anyone wanting an insight to the world of airline crews, particularly the pilots!

I'd heard him on a podcast and he was a good speaker. Being an private pilot
I found it readable but not that satisfying in the sense that there wasn't much about flying a 'plane. I'd heard him on a podcast and he was a good speaker. Being an private pilot, I'd expected more about piloting and less about his other interests.

Wrong name for title of book
Very disappointing, the author did not have many airline stories it was mostly about him going hunting and sailing what his friends did when not flying.
