Product Description Released in 1995 and the first album from Battlefield Band after a gap of 2½ years was long awaited and had been much requested. The band had been working very hard over the past few years with trips you just don't say "No" to, such as India, Sri Lanka and Egypt. Threads is a good one.

Like the traditional style
Though their membership and style has changed some, I like their traditional styling of Scottish folk. Top of this genre.

The Battlefield Band - the very best of Scottish music!
The Battlefield Band have been around for quite a few years with a changing cast of musicians, Alan Reid just recently left and will be missed, but the heart and soul of The Battlefield Band is their skilled musicianship, their passion, their humor and their commitment to keeping the tradition of Scottish music alive. Generally each disc contains original songs as well as Scottish classics, accompanied by healthy doses of fiddle, guitar, keyboards, pipes and penny whistle. While they hold fast to traditional Scottish music their sound is very contemporary, and many of the themes they tackle are modern, as well as historical subjects which will expand your view of the history you were taught in school. These guys are amazing live! I have been lucky enough to see them live three times, and even with three different line-ups they stay true to their stated goal of: Forward with Scotland's Past! See them live, listen to their music and be moved both emotionally and physically. These guys can tug at your heart-strings and they can get you on your feet clapping and stamping along to a raucous beat!

Excellent Scottish music
This is one of Battlefield Band's earlier works. It still shows the heart and soul of one of the premiere Scottish bands.
