One partition is larger than the other due to the width of the side door, and in my case, I ran the partition slightly diagonally to make them more even. No tools required for assembly. Basically unfolds and clips into place. Be careful not to pinch your fingers though on the last panel. We have a larger wooden crate for our puppy but I was looking for something smaller to provide a safe place for him to sleep as he trains and to provide a safe place for him to stay in the kitchen while I’m cooking. It is lightweight enough that I can just pick it up and move it room to room without collapsing the kennel. Arrived in excellent condition and has a great door latch that is stable and secure. This size is perfect for a 24 inch padded crate mat for him to rest on. I don’t like to just leave the uncomfortable plastic tray as his space to lay but it is easy to remove and clean when needed. The divider that comes with it might work for smaller breeds but would make the space too small for my puppy’s needs.
