Leoncini's mini mortadella is made by Leoncini in Verona, near Lake Garda in Italy. Mortadella is the "Queen of Salumi," it is an encased cooked salumi, with a lean meat paste made out of shoulder muscle, a blend of spices and lardons. Slowly cooked for several hours in large ovens, the result is a silky smooth and rich meat. We love a few paper thin slices on our antipasto platter, with olives, aged cheeses, and a fruit mostarda. This classic cold cut, again, thinly sliced, makes the perfect sandwich. Use as a filling for tortellini or cube it up and fry it!

Loved it! I hadn't eaten mortadella for two years and this one tasted like mana of the Gods... Besides, it came quite a few days before the promised day. The packaging was perfect, and the cold pack was still partly frozen on arrival. Excellent buy.

no better than what is available at your local deli, probably worse.
I tasted a different Leoncini Mortadella at a good Italian restaurant and decided that I should try this one for myself. Unfortunately this is the plain mortadella without pistachios, and it is absolutely one of the more forgettable mortadellas around, and certainly not worth the insane as-shipped price I paid for it ($22 !).
