Used this hat on an 8 day florida trip and it was AWESOME! It was flexible so i packed it easily in my luggage, it fit inside my backpack and stroller storage and never got deformed. When it would get wet it dried up quickly too.The functionality was insane! It covered the sun off my face and all around my neck so well that the ONE day I forgot it in my hotel I was suffering!The hat is light weight, you don’t even feel like it’s on your head. My one complaint is the circumference. When I straightened my hair it fit easily but the days I left my hair curly I could feel it tight around my head and it would leave a mark on my forehead. That is the only reason I took one star off for comfort.

This hat is very well constructed and light weight, it provides great sun protection. I like that it's vented on the top that helps your head stay cool.

These are best hats I ever use. DON"T try other brands. "SOLARIS ONLY!" The one in the photo is 2 years old. I have a small lawn service, I cut 42 lawns a week and have my own 1 acre property to keep up. I used this hat everyday I work. It's has flew off my head and been run over by cars several times because I don't use the chin strap, my fault. As you can see it's very dirty, I do wash it every week in a top load machine in a nylon zipper bag. Even though it states do not machine wash. I think it was time to splurge and get a new one, well 2 going to wash them a little more often, LOL. I also have them in my other vehicles. ALL SOLARIS! Easy to adjust, great sun protection, light weight, fairly cool and most important, they LAST!

It is practically weightless, well-made with attention to detail. The snap-on crown cover is great. I am a woman who travels, hikes, spends time outdoors. I have a lot of hair, often pulled back into a ponytail, wear a bigger-size hat, --(23 1/2 - 24" circum.) --do not like to FEEL a hatband around my forehead, and need chin strap to tighten if winds pick up while hiking. I was heading to Sequoia-Kings Canyon-Yosemite via Fresno/the HOT San Joaquin Valley and my more-expensive outdoor specialty-store hats just weren't vented enough, -have floppier brims that didn't provide enough sun/shade protection, esp. in a strong breeze. I'm picky, but with no time to shop around, I ordered this Solaris Outdoor Sun Protection Hat spur-of-the-moment, -no real expectations, --figured for the price, nothing much to lose. It arrived the day prior to departure, packed beautifully and was awesome in every situation encountered, plus looks neat, flattering. The crown, -either covered or totally vented w/open net,--is deep enough to feel secure on head without being awkward around a ponytail worn midway down back of head. I am ordering another olive green, and possibly the dark grey as well. The crown snap cover and brim could possibly be treated with waterproofing spray if desired. NOTE: The only "con" would be that this hat does not have adjustable crown, so probably not a good choice for smaller head sizes. For me, it has been an awesome choice.

I have a large head so it is hard to find sun hats that fit. I was looking for something to keep the sun off my neck in back also. This one does just that and it fits my big head! It has an extra adjustment for hat size in back to make smaller or larger if needed. It has extra little attachments under the sides in case you want the chin strap to grab the sides to hold closer to head. I don't need that feature, but someone might. It has the air vents on either side of head which is great since this is polyester and is notorious for being hot. I would prefer a natural fiber, but for the price, this can't be beat! I plan to use it mainly for gardening and walking. The chin strap will keep it on my head when I walk on a windy day.

The one size fits all didn’t fit my head. My head is quite large so it will fit 97% of you fine folks

I bought this for my fair skinned preteen grandson. His opinion is it is ugly, yes it is. So I funked it up. I dyed it green his request. Need to use an all fabric dye and added some colored sploches. His opinion now, cool. Hopefully now no more sunburnt ears and neck and not having to apply sunscreen on them so often. He still only has to wear it out hiking.

Work as Gardner, so head down exposing my neck all-day. The flap covered the sides and back of my neck and was light and airy. Would definitely buy again.
