Kanile'a Ukuleles are handmade in beautiful Oahu, Hawaii, where the history of the uke has it's origins. According to owner, Joe Souza, "ukulele has always been a part of my life," but it wasn't until his apprenticeship with master luthier, Pete Burmudez, that he realized that uke-building was his life's calling. That was 1990. Now, 24 years later, Joe and Crew are making the finest ukeleles in the world. Made from premium-curl Koa harvested from a private plantation, these could also be the most gorgeous ukes in the world. It seems as though the Hawaiian sunset itself has been captured within, each one radiating a fire of unmatched beauty and grace. What's more, the tone is absolutely perfect -- sweet, warm, woody, and punchy without sounding harsh or brittle. This K-1 Tenor Model comes with a UV gloss finish and hardshell case.
