THIS BOOK LACKS ANY DETAIL WHATSOEVER ,TAKE THE SECTION ON WINDOWS FOR INSTANCE DOES NOT SHOW ANYTHING REGARDING CUTTING OUT OR HOW THEY WERE INSTALLED, JUST LOOKS LIKE THE AUTHOR IS SHOWING OF WITH A FEW PICTURES.NOTHING REGARDING SITE HOOKUP ELECTRICS. DOES MENTION THAT HE INSTALLED GAS HIMSELF WITCH IS A NO,NO,THIS IS SOME THING THAT SHOULD BE LEFT TO A REGISTERED CORGI ENGINEER. I WILL BE REQUESTING MY MONEY BACK

I was toying with the idea of building a campervan, and saw this book advertised on amason. I recognised the camper on the book cver as one that I had seen several times in my local area. It looked very nice on the outside, so I bought the book out of interest to see how it was done.The book is a good read, with lots of tips and tricks on how to source materials for free, or cheap. Generally, the book is very informative and takes you through the whole building process with plenty of photos & instructions.This is not a job for the novice, though,as I think many people will have difficulty doing their own upholstery, or make a steel rock & roll bed, as many people will not be likely to have access to welding facilities. Saying that though it does show how to make a wooden one, which will be ok if you don't require seat belts.Apart from that, it looks pretty straight forward, so I am going to have a go, as I already have a van. I am pleased I purchased the paperback version as it will be more convenient than a Kindle in the garage where I will be building the camper.All in all, I think it it deserveing of 5 stars.

Found it a very interesting read with good ideas and photos better than YouTube for ideas and a good reference book to have around especially for the order to do things in.as a novice I would have liked more in depth detail but this is the best book I've found on a van conversion.

The description of the book was very misleading - it said it would provide information on free campsites throughout the uk when in fact this information was to buy another book containing the information-and it was this particular information that made me decide to buy the book

good read ,helpfull,deals in alloy not so mutch wood,did very good job on seats.

Great introduction to conversion project ... easy to follow guide- perfect gift for someone who has plans to do the same

My Husband has been talking about building a camper van for years, so I thought I would kick start him bit by getting him this book for Christmas. Success! He really loves the book and it has given him the confidence to look for a suitable van so that he can finally do it. Thank you :)
