Buyer Beware
The idea for this book is good, especially improving on the clarity of the first edition and including some RCH junction diagrams. However, and it's a big HOWEVER, there are lots of silly errors and inconsistencies between maps on different pages. As an example, the Woodhead route west of Penistone is shown as LMS on one map, whilst on another its LNER. Similarly, the former M&SWJ line starts out as being LMS, but on the continuation sheet, it's GWR.Doesn't anyone ever proofread material nowadays? So unfortunately, not a publication to be trusted for accuracy.

Poor quality knocked about
Bought as a present, had to send the fist one back as damaged edges, the second was in just as bad a condition with the inner cover wrinkled and glue or something over the cover, looked like it was either a reject or production quality has dropped sharply to a level no longer recognizable to a good quality hard back book. Shame as sure the contents may have merited a far higher star but who knows? Maybe just a blip but when two books are less than the quality expected then something is not right.

Useful information on railway routes !
What a nice book full of useful maps which will help to model the real railway route or plan a "in the style of" layout for your model railway.
