Easy to set up and very usable screen device, just a couple of concerns.
Review of KYY X90A 14 inch dual monitor laptop screen extender.Overall this is a quality and usable product that I am happy to have.Would I recommend or order as a gift? Yes.Would I order this again? Yes.Pros:UsableEasy set-upSeems durableHandleCons:Poor standHeavyPoor viewing anglesSlightly dimUpon opening this Screen Extender I was shocked by the weight. It makes me feel it is of good quality and durable. It was packed in a nice box with quality graphics. The foam protects it well and I was confident it was not damaged during shipping due to the packaging. The fit and finish is quite nice and feels professional. I like that it is a metal case similar to a smaller macbook or laptop. It does add extra weight but I like that this may dent versus crack if damaged. I do not like that the bezel has a machine finish that acts like a mirror and reflects ambient light causing some glare.Appropriate cables and adapters were included and were very much usable. I like that they include a power brick to plug into the wall and that it is not hardwired. The USB-C input is functional with power if the device such as a laptop is plugged in and able to supply power. One of my only complaints is that the back kickstand is not optimized well. I feel that it needs a foot that extends under the laptop or behind the body in the middle of the device to provide adequate stability. I used it briefly in its advertised configuration with a screen on either side of the laptop I am using. but the screens could not be angled how I would like them due to not being able to balance the weight of the screens using the included kick stand. That being said I am currently using this in a portrait orientation and I disabled one of the screens. It is much more stable in this orientation and adds to the productivity of my laptop. Though not as much as two extra screens would have.Connectivity wise it was fairly quick to set up. Windows 11 does Identify the screens, native resolution and basic settings that are optimal. It took me a while to configure these as I wanted but that was more to do with my limited experience with Windows display settings. The screen itself does seem to be appropriately advertised for 1920x1080. It does have poor viewing angles and lacks some brightness and colors seem slightly off compared to my MSI GF65 Laptop display.I tried this with both a Windows 11 Laptop and a Samsung S22 Ultra. The laptop was easy and fairly intuitive and did not ask for drivers to be installed. The screens did want me to download a driver on my phone but did not prompt it. Which I guess is a positive and a negative. I do not like downloading drivers for products or like when my phone is prompted to download an unknown APK file. I went to the app store and was able to download the "drivers" which were less than helpful and only allowed me to mirror my phone screen. Would recommend only using this with a Windows 11 device. I am sure it works with Mac as advertised, but I was unable to test.Would I order this again, for myself? Yes; However, if another option was not more compatible for my needs or more competitively priced I might be tempted to tryout another option.

Good screen real estate, can be difficult to balance
Interesting device with seemingly niche use. It's portable but not necessarily easy to use on the go. Difficult to setup at a small cafe table and pretty much impossible in an airport or airplane seat. Rather than being affixed directly to the laptop, it props up on a kickstand with space for you to set the laptop between. Anything much larger than a 14" laptop also won't fit easily between the monitors. You'll probably only use this if you're travelling to another office, where you have a good amount of desk space but no monitor and docking station. This is most convenient if you have a laptop that can fully power the monitors from the USB connection used for video output, but since it's difficult to use without a reasonably-sized table it isn't the worst if you have to rely on the included power adapter or a second USB connection for power. In dual-screen mode it can be difficult to balance it well enough for it to lean into the kickstand but still have the screens at an optimal viewing angle. I sometimes end up having to rely on my laptop screen to help keep these monitors from tipping forward. Both screens have dual hinges that are pretty stiff so they stay in place very well. You do, however, end up having to open them almost 180 before bringing them back to near 90 for the hinges to be in a useable position. Both screens have rubber pads placed so that when this is folded up to go, the case isn't rubbing on itself. It would have been nice if there were pads on the back of the screen that sits on the table when using this in single-screen portrait mode. There's a handle that makes it easier to carry. It's most helpful for handling it when the screens are open. It can also be helpful when everything is folded up but you have to be careful not to poke the inside screen when handling it this way.The screens can go pretty bright and everything is clear to read. The viewing angles are good as well. Build construction is very nice. Feels just as solid as the aluminum case on my laptop. It's a borderline recommendation at the currently price of $430, but if you can get it for $300 or less than it's a pretty good pair of monitors.

High Quality, but needs a better Thunderbolt 4 Cable
When I first received this product, I was impressed with the high quality retail packaging (similar to an Apple Product box). Upon unboxing, I was pleased to see a sturdy metal frame and what appears to be a very durable offering. I like the more substantial stand to better support the weight and am a big fan of being able to use just ONE Thunderbolt 4 Cable connection to my laptop that supplies both video and power; I also liked the placement of the cable plug in at the bottom right of the center piece that sits behind your laptop monitor. As many good things as there were, there were several drawbacks. One was listed in the product title, so I didn't ding the rating - it is FullHD (1080p) vs 4K; most everything seems to support 4K, so that was a slight disappointment (again, knew when I ordered as it was clearly marked). When I went to setup the drivers, I was pleased to find a USB-C flash drive (also supports USB-A) that had the drivers... or so I thought. I wound up having to use the website link listed on the flash drive to download the latest MacOS drivers that supported my MacBook Pro M2 Max. After installing the drivers, I was able to get the monitors configured pretty quickly, but the native "recommended" resolution was WAY lower than FullHD. I was able to set each monitor to 1920x1080, but when I moved the mouse across them, it lagged severely. I troubleshooted by taking known a good quality Thunderbolt 4 Cable I had and replaced the one that came in the box - immediately the monitors worked without issue with the responsiveness you would expect. That was disappointing that it didn't include a cable that fully supported the bandwidth needed.Given the lack of most relevant drivers on the USB Drive (minor concern for me, but could be more challenging for less tech-savvy people) and the fact that it is effectively "bring your own cable" (and will likely lead many people to think the product doesn't work because of the lower quality USB-C Cable included), I am unable to give this a 4.5 or better.Overall 4.1/5

Portable double screen monitors for 12-15” notebooks
Pair of screens, USB-C powered, and connected to a single USB-C port for display. Drivers are supplied on the included memory stick, or a site for the drivers can be requested by sending a message to the seller. Once plugged in, the displays can be managed by the system panel of the operating system. Recommended for versatility and ease of use.

Pretty nice monitor extender, but pretty bulky and not super stable with kickstand only
These are definitely nice quality screens that deliver a pretty crisp picture, and have pretty good brightness as well. They're pretty sturdy, but you need a lot more tablespace than I would like because it only has the kickstand and it does not attach to the actual computer itself. This is a major problem if you were intending to use this on an airplane because there's no way a full laptop and these monitors will fit on an airplane tray table.I got this because I wanted to use it while sitting on my couch with my lap desk, and it doesn't fit on that either so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this, but I might just bring it into work and use it in long meetings or something like that.Overall, I think there are better options out there around the same price point that would have a clip or something to attach to the actual laptop monitor in addition to a kickstand, so I'm not officially recommending it. That said, maybe you have different scenarios in mind so I recommend watching my video and deciding for yourself if this is the right option for you!
