Cheap but good
I had a wish list for my next trekking poles- lightweight aluminium- primary cork handles- secondary shaft handles- flip locks- straps that actually works and don't hurt- no shock absorption- extendable to at least 135cmI had the choice of these of poles that cost upwards of £70 EACHI read recently that the once you get above the most very basic of poles the actual difference in performance between average poles and super high tech poles is very very small, and most of the benefits aren't actually much use when compared to their drawbacks (i.e. carbon is lighter but more brittle etc)I don't know if that's true but these poles would certainly seem to bear that outThese fit all those criteria, replacing my last poles which were twist locks and which became increasing more frustrating to use out in the wildsThese set up and take down quickly and easily and I've used them as a central pole in my Luxe Hexpeak tentover a dozen or so hikes, these haven't missed a beat despite being thrown in a river (accidentally - honest) and being used a s a makeshift wading staff, as well as a tent pole as noted aboveRecommended

Great Poles at a Great Price
I ordered a pair of these poles to take on a recent trip to New Zealand. They arrived quickly (within 2days) and were packaged well. The quality of the poles is good, and I found it easy to adjust them to suit me.I used them for 5 weeks on and off across various walks with ranging gradients. They were comfortable to hold and packed down small enough to stow them away on days that I wasn't using them. Overall I've been very pleased. Looking forward to getting out with them in the UK now.I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a stylish pair of poles at a wallet friendly price.

looking good so far
Looking good so far; we haven't tried them under stressful conditions. They are as light as any (more basic, cheaper) poles we have had before, and lighter than almost all. I hope that the use of 7075 means they are stronger. That is why we bought them; as we get older and more reliant on sticks in harsher conditions we wanted to reduce the risk of failure on a mountain. For that reason it seemed that good aluminium is better than fibreglass for us. I hope that we never get to know if they really are stronger ...I prefer the flip-lock catches to the more common twist-lock ones; again only time will tell. These catches do mean there is no shock absorber that similar priced twist-lock poles would probably have; I've never found the shock absorbers much help anyway.

Excellent poles, great value!
So I bought these poles only because I needed some as cheap and as quick as possible. They have been with me now on multiple hikes across the lakes, peak and snowdonia in various weather conditions.Although not as light as I expected (maybe because I was comparing them with my old sticks) they were extremely sturdy! And they clip together nicely so I can fasten them to my pack without them sliding around all over when I'm not using. The clips to extend the poles are very stiff at first, but after a few uses became much easier to extend and secure without taking anything away from the sturdiness. The Cork handles are brilliant, comfortable yet still provide a great grip, I've had poles in the past with a type of foam handle that softens and slips while holding. Not had any issues yet with these. The only thing I could say as a negative would be the attachments are a bit flimsy. Although I only really use the point and the snow shoe anyway.Overall these are great hiking poles, well constructed and I'm sure they will help me on many more adventures!

the local nature reserve was very muddy so it was the perfect opportunity to put them through their paces
Got a chance to try these yesterday. After all the snow and rain we've had, the local nature reserve was very muddy so it was the perfect opportunity to put them through their paces.I've only used basic beginner poles before, so the extra lower grip was a welcome addition as I didn't have to change length when going uphill. The included feet accessories look fine though I chose to go without them. The cork grips are comfortable in my hands and the poles are easy to clean and wipe down after use. Happy with my purchase, good quality, and would definitely recommend for the price.

Better than expected
After having back surgery 2 years ago I was sick of using crutches on my bad days to get around and people looking at me as disabled. So I decided to change sticks so to speak. They arrived the other day so its been a couple of days practice in the house.Today I let myself loose in the big wide world, I use them for balance on one side so I use only one. So these are easy to adjust to any height I'm 5'10" and these more than enough adjustment. They are really comfortable to use and they gave me confidence to put my full weight on them. The only issue I can find is now I do look a bit odd in town with these rather than crutches and nobody opens doors for you.

Good hiking poles at a good price
Local outdoor store's hiking poles advertised for 130 euro. Amazon has a range of options starting around £20 (plus shipping around £6) so its a no-brainer, and I fear for the future of the retail industry as we know it. But I digress. I joined a hiking group that walks fast & picks steep hills & often goes off-track over uneven terrain. And after falling down once too often a mate lent me one of his poles to complete the hike. And WHAT a difference. So I ordered this pair from Amazon, and used them in anger today in the Dublin Mountains, and they saved my skin numerous times on slippy tracks & uneven off-track sections with uneven ground hidden by heather. Are they the best or the lightest or the strongest or the fanciest? I don't know, and I couldn't be bothered to spend that much time researching it. They look good & solid & well-made, and worked superbly on their maiden voyage. Adjusting clips look solid. Grips look & feel fine. What more can you expect at this price. I'm reluctant to give 5 stars to anything that I haven't yet tested repeatedly, but they did what they were meant to on their first trip out.Edit: The delivery was very prompt too
