Spotlight (The Blake Harte Mysteries) Paperback – 24 Oct. 2017

I like the storyline but it lost a star because of errors ... vein instead of vain, bare instead of bear! Makes me think the author isn't bothered, which is a shame.

These may be much shorter stories, but so good. They keep you turning the pages wanting to know what happens next, and there’s always quite a twist. Give them a go

Totally addicted to the writing style and characters in this series. Another brilliant mystery, coupled with the beautiful blossoming romance between Blake and Harrison. Can’t wait for book 6!Excellent work Mr Innes, what a great year of writing you have had. This fan is devoted.

Love this series. Proper story and the love interest too. Proper characters and day to day responsibilities - not just a love story divorced from reality.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and the whole series, great characters that you want to spend time with and some brain teasing storylines.

Blake Harte just gets more and more clever! Robert the author Is not doing too bad either! Very enjoyable read!

I have read them all and to me they are Heartbeat meets Jonathan Creek. I always feel a little short-changed in the Blake and Harrison dynamics. There is no sex, which is fine but I would love to see a bit more of affection and personal relationship. Blake did not realise Harrison was missing for 24 hours and he was even slow reacting and needed to be told to jump in the river. Maybe next time I will feel the love - I hope so, and I will be reading.

Here's the thing about this series. So much fun. Just plain old fun. Who done it? How done it? Can we readers ever figure it out? Nah. Don't think so.This talented author treats us to some intelligent, fun, mystery, with a dash of romance, and a great supporting cast of characters. In fact the supporting cast is strong enough to truly be a part of the story, but never takes away from Blake and Harrison. Perfectly balanced.Mr. Innes provides just enough tension for us to be worried that things will go wrong, even though we know that Blake just has to save Harrison, and that good will prevail. Definitely has you turning the pages to see how it will all be explained.Only thing that will improve this fun series? Longer books, with a bit more Blake and Harrison time.If you haven't read them all, treat yourself and start from the beginning. You won't be disappointed.

A gay inspector is always appreciated. There are few, and fewer still that are not full of excuses for sex with a little crime. The characters around Harte at the station are developing some personality. Though not enough. Their voices need to be heard more. With less of Harte being the super cop. Those characters are kept to much in the background. Best fleshed out characters were Harte's parents. The author purposely made the bad guy obvious while successfully hiding the motive. A success for this reader.

Glad to see the author is up to form with this book. I was prepared to give up on the series if this book was like the one before it. In this one relationships are front and center. We learn more about Harte's background when his parents come to town and we learn who Bethany is. There was more energy in this book than in the last. I enjoyed the read and the mystery was quite good. I hope the series continues to grow and get better but I see that the author has started a new series so who knows. At least this one was decent.

I have followed this series from the beginning and have enjoyed each book more than the last. The writing is superb and like all good mysteries, it keeps you guessing until the end. If you have not read any in this series, I highly recommend you start with book 1. The main characters have an awesome story between them that started after the first mystery,

This is a wonderful whodunit series and I just can't get enough of Blake and Harrison. Intrigue, suspense, humor and love all in the pages of this book and the four that came before. Looking forward to the next book by this author. Definitely recommend this book, this series and this author.

I really like this series. This book , for me, was not as strong as the others. I thought the explanations at the end were a bit convoluted and the introduction of the American seemed unrealistic. Still, I look forward to more of Blake and Harrison.

Really enjoyed this one and as always love the side characters and following his love life. Can't wait to read the next book.

l loved the whole book, squirmed sometimes at what would happen next but rushed on to the next page. Can't wait for the next instalment- this has me hooked. Badly.

Another great book--It was good to learn Blake's history--I loved the ending and I can not wait until the next one. If I had one wish I would wish that it had been longer!

I absolutely love this series. Blake and Harrison are two of the best characters ever written. I just finished Spotlight and am going to try to be patient till the next Robert Innes brilliant piece is available. Mr Innes is a genius and should be read and re-read often.

Enjoyable mystery and characters, just as with all of the other books in this series. Look forward to the next one.

I really like the Blake Harte Mysteries from Robert Innes. There are twists, turns and surprises. Love the characters and story lines. I'm becoming a huge Robert Innes fan!Can't wait for the next book.
