If you like me, had been worried about breaking your apple pencil or iPad when plugging it into the bottom of the device then this is the solution for you, this standalone Apple Pencil charging stand which even comes with a cap holder.Charging your apple pencil via the iPad is obviously convenient however it does feel precarious and doesn't feel like a stable connection. This attractive stand is made of refined word and aluminium and is very stable sat on the desk as it has a nice weight to it. It simply links to a standard lightning cable (not provided) and then you can just pop the pencil in.

** Update - it became increasingly difficult to get a connection to the pencil and the unit failed after about 4 weeks. Returned for refund. It's a shame because the concept is good **Original 5* review:This is the only Apple Pencil charging dock I’ve found that uses the Apple Lighting cable to charge with. This means you don’t need an extra charger and cable, just leave dock with iPad charger and use whichever is needed. Even Apple don’t make one of these. Excellent piece of kit.

This is a nicely designed and implemented device. The upper part is made from solid bead blasted aluminium and the lower part does appear to be some kind of wood. The pencil sits securely in the charger and has a positive feel when inserted. The position to store the cap whilst changing is a nice touch. The two parts don’t perfectly align which rather let’s down the design. Also although the LED changes from green to orange when the pencil is inserted it does not change back up green when pencil is charged as described in the manual. So only 4 stars, I would have given 4.5 if I could’be.

It's a really useful little charging dock that I didn't know existed. I used to keep my Apple pencil in a little pot on my desk but I would always forget to charge it. Now I just keep it in this handy little charger and it's always topped up ready to use when I need it.I was actually really surprised at the high quality of the dock. It's very heavy and solid, so you can tell it's been well-constructed. And the wood at the bottom is a nice touch. Fits in nicely on my desk with my other tech products.

Keeps everything together. Feels a solid build.
