Pretty much any can opener works when it's new but some, if not most, don't stay like that. With a few exceptions they typically rely on the user squeezing two handles to initiate and maintain the cut, with a serrated wheel pushing the can past the cutting wheel. It's that serrated wheel which tend to wear out and start slipping, sometimes after only a few months of use.A while ago, when looking for a replacement for yet another failed can opener, I stumbled across the Kleva Edge, which used an innovative design. With this one, there are no handles to squeeze - the driving wheel is pulled onto the can by the action of rotating it. Even as the device wears, the design compensates so things don't get looser and looser.I purchased my Kleva Edge (for £25) quite a while ago and thought it brilliant enough that I gave a few away as Xmas presents. But recently it has started to show its age in that small diameter cans are turning into a problem. I saw this item, which is of a similar design, and figured it should be worth a try as a replacement, particularly since it's a quarter of the price.In practice, this can opener works flawlessly. There is no messing about trying to slot the can edge between wheels you can't see on the underside, no squeezing of handles. Just drop it on and turn the handle. At the end, a slight turn backwards releases the can. The traditional handle is perhaps more comfortable to hold and use than the Z-shape of the Kleva Edge. I was concerned that there may be some rotational twisting in use, but the U-bar over the cutter takes care of that and additionally locates the cutter against the can.As should be expected from any opener of the last decade or so, this opener produces a lid without sharp edges, so the can may be easily closed again if some of the contents are unused. An excellent tool for the kitchen.

Not seen such a design before, but it works. Would have liked the plastic quality to have been better, but it's under a tenner, so can't complain. Would have liked an instruction manual though, as design is a bit unorthodox for a can opener. All in all, happy with product.

WARNING DO NOT PURCHASE. This item is positively dangerous and can cause serious harm!I opened a tin of tuna using this opener and noticed some slivers of metal floating in the oil!Closer inspection of the freshly cut tin edge revealed pieces of metal hanging off ready to drop into the contents (see images) This is the third time I have used this tin opener and I’m now worried about ingestion of metal from this defective poorly designed product.

I bought this can opener for my mom fromShe always had trouble with store brand/dollar store can openers. We even tried electric can openers but they either broke or the can didn't open.After buying this zyliss can opener, we no longer have this problem. My mom finds opening cans literally a snap. It takes less than 20secs on average. The lock design works well although the magnet doesn't always work.Regardless, it is still the best opener we have ever had and so far it is working great.

This can opener is really easy to use was a bit different as it only has 1 handle but it opens cans very easy when you use it as it is smooth opening and does not leasve you cans sharp

Great opener, it is easy to use and you have the option to reseal the can.All I can say is great!

Doesn't work. Tried it on several find but it doesn't do anything. Would have given zero stars of that was an option
