The Gospel of Luke is the second film by The Lumo Project which brings the original Jesus narrative to the screen using the Gospel text as its script, word for word. Informed by leading world experts' latest theological, historical and archaeological research on every aspect of life in first century Palestine, this is a ground breaking multi million pound film series that revolutionises the way we experience and understand the story of Jesus. Based entirely on the unedited, unabridged New Testament Gospels, its dramatised action is accompanied by voice over narration by Richard E. Grant and Sir Derek Jacobi. Filmed with authentic actors and settings, the perfect Holy Land backdrop, including computer generated Jerusalem and Temple. Winner of UK Christian Film Festival Awards 2015: Best Series and Best of British.

Selva really looks like a Jew
The film is first class. Selva really looks like a Jew, unlike in previous versions and the background is authentic. However, if you want to use it as an apologetic, I do not think it is so effective – most non-Christians would not be prepared to sit though two discs worth. For such purposes a better bet would be the the DVD entitled The Story of Jesus where Selva is also in the title role. The director of the film is a committed Christian who originally wanted to present a more dramatic version of the Bible to her Sunday School, so I think that its most suitable target audience is a Christian one.

Brilliant version of Luke's Gospel.
This is a marvellous version of Luke's Gospel. Although it took me a bit to get used to having the text read instead of spoken by the actors, I still greatly enjoyed it. The sets are realistic, and I particularly like the fact that the actor who portrayed Jesus really looked Middle Eastern. The film can be watched straight through, or can be watched in parts, which would be useful for group study. Highly recommended.

Much better than I could have hoped for
Much better than I could have hoped for. The actors are not white British and it is totally true to the Scriptures. Even Jesus' baptism was done properly. I recommend it.

A novel way to enact Luke's version of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God
Somewhat imaginative in its presentation it kept to the Word of God as advertised. I liked it and I am very particular when it comes to films of Biblical importance.

A wonderful life of Christ dvd
Wonderful dvd of St Luke's gospel. I would have liked it to be in a format easy to access on English dvd players. Works fine on a computer dvd.
