The Detection Collection

I really didn’t expect this. I was looking forward to the book, and crawled through a series of dull, lazy stories that wren’t really mysteries, weren’t really solved, and looked as though they had been dashed off while waiting for a bus. I really am only baffled by the sloppiness, and the only real mystery is that any publisher would put this out for sale. Just terrible.

This is a series of short stories set around murder and they are very readable, with some nice twists and turns. Would recommend if you are looking for a book to dip in and out of, as the stories can be read singly - or, as I did, in one go!Liked it so much I've ordered the books mentioned in the end pages.

Book arrived on time, its excellent read, very pleased with it.

An uneven collection as they always are. But despite a couple of indifferent ones (that hardly qualify as "detection" at all) there are some memorable gems that make it well worth the purchase. Recommended.

An entertaining collection of stories - from some of the best British writers in the mystery crime genre. I recommend it to anyone wanting a quick read on the train or bus.
