A great value Ukulele
Had the urge to learn to play a stringed instrument and bought this not expecting too much, surely at this price it'd be nothing more than an expensive toy? I was greatly mistaken. This little instrument can actually carry a decent tune and as a newcomer it was very easy to pick up and within a few hours of playing was able to belt out some classics, much to the annoyance to everyone else within earshot. There's lots and lots of resources on the internet to help ukulele newbies - my advice is find a YouTube video and play along. This has been played almost daily for around 8 months, still with the same set of strings and the bodywork is still a bright shiny red with only minimal signs of usage.Make sure you download a ukulele tuning app or buy a cheap ukulele tuner as over the first few dozen hours of playing I found the strings will need slight retuning,Android tuner app: Easy Ukulele - Ukulele Tuner Clip on tuner: Eno ET 33U Clip-On Ukulele Tuner Spare strings: Mahalo Soprano Ukulele Strings

Needs extras if buying for a child
I like this - I like its colour, I like its cover, I like that a child can properly use the strings, I like its price. But to all those adults buying for children: I have bought two very different children a uke from two different makers and suppliers, because parents/teachers recommended one. The children were both so pleased at the time. One month, 6 months, 2 years after: they don't even know where their uke is, let alone are using it. It needs too many extras: a way of tuning it, music that they identify with, music they can play. At the moment, a uke can't do that! That's not Mahalo's fault so is no reflection on this product - that's why I've given it 5*. But I won't be buying another.

A total bargain.
I bought this because I wanted to take up the ukulele and didn't want to spend much until I found out whether I was going to be any good at it. My thinking was that if I was still playing in six months time, maybe I could upgrade.I was worried at first because I could not get it to stay in tune, but by the time I'd had it a week it had settled down and now holds its tune really well. It's a great sound, I love it, and I feel in no hurry to get a more expensive uke. It seems astonishing to me that I was able to buy a musical instrument of such quality so cheaply.

You'll be strumming away in no time
It does what it says on the tin, a ukulele for beginners. Nothing special, just a plain, cheap ukulele that is perfect if you're starting out on the ukulele. Yes, it will go out of tune, so a tuning device of some sort will be needed in order to get each string the right note. The strings will go out of tune, but this only happens a few times at the beginning, after that, you don't have to re-tune it often at all.Overall, perfect when you're starting out. Oh yeah, you also get a cool bag to put it in.

20 quids worth of joy
shiny red and well made.I decided that if I was still playing at the end of the year I would treat myself and up scale it a bit, maybe to a concert. With a £4 Uke for dummies book I am set up. However playing twinkle twinkle little star is beginning to annoy my partner, so time to knuckle down and learn something less appropriate to primary school christmas concerts..

Give this ukulele a go – you won’t regret it
A brilliant beginner ukulele. Had mine a year now, and wouldn’t part with it for the world. With some new Aquilla strings (roughly £5) and some practice, it easily competes with ukuleles three times its price. I fitted a passive under-saddle piezo pickup to mine last month, so I could plug it into an amplifier for live gigs, although, even without an amp, it’s easily loud enough for groups (5–20 players) and outdoor busking.

Love this
Bought this as wanted to learn a new instrument but wasn't sure what. I love the colour if this and it comes in a bag. Glad I picked this as a new instrument as it's easy to learn. My nephew seems fascinated with it and wants one so will be purchasing one for him.

Nice ukulele, shame the strings don't stay in tune
This is a nice looking ukulele however I've not yet managed to get it to stay in tune. Until I manage to buy decent strings my son can't play it. Wish I'd spent a bit more money to get something that could be played straight away. Having said that for the price it seems like a reasonable quality instrument.
