The Borrowers [DVD]

Love this film. Solid performances from all involved genuinely elevate this great family entertainment above the 'average'. It's just a real shame the releasing studio: Fabulous Films Limited, didn't employ as much effort into sourcing decent film stock for their Blu-ray release! Washed out colours (almost becoming negatives in a few places), grainy and flat. Cannot fault the audio though; clear, crisp and delivers throughout. No extras on the Blu-ray, just the film. Worth getting as an upgrade from the DVD release, but only marginally. Price of item reflects stripped down disc contents. Worth adding to any collection. 4**** for film (not) production value of Blu-ray.

I watched it as a kid and loved watching it with my own children m. Very fun and family friendly, we had mice in the house they’ve left us but still linger around the neighbours, we pretend it’s the borrowers or a yokai now.

This film totally transfixed my 3 yr old daughter. For an older film, it has aged very well, with the special effects agtually better than CGI. Great story lovingly told & full of great characters.

A comedy classic! John Goodman and Jim Broadbent at their best! My 5 year old grandson loves this! A definite must have for adults and kids alike

I rented this to keep the kids happy on an otherwise weatherbeaten day and I seemed to do the trick.
